GENERAL CHAOS.
General Chaos + 3 friends and a multitap was the shit.
Guess its really EA ip but this game gets overlooked way too often.

Also not Sega, but a VC release of the TG-16 version of Gain Ground would kick serious ass.

Skies of Arcadia 2 FTW!! A sequel had been planned but I think the idea was canned when they were folded into Wow Entertainment. There was talk that it was still in the works for the longest time but that doesn't appear to be true anymore.

I would LOVE SoA 2.

Some people, not a majority by any means, but some people need to keep in mind what franchises Sega actually has the rights to.

Sonic Adventure 3, Shenmue 3, and Sonic Shuffle 2 on the 360.

NiGHTS 2 on Wii (Fly plaything, fly)

Shenmue on a Next-gen console... that just makes me cry cause I can't play it now. Or hell, a Next-gen port on the Source Engine would RAWK.

Altered Beast and Toejam and Earl were already remade for PS2 and Xbox respectively.

I can tell you that the Altered Beast remake is boring as fuck.

I'd like to see a Skies, Panzer Saga, and a Shining game that is a stragey RPG in the vein of the first 2 games.

Two words:

WONDER BOY (aka Monster Land)

I'm surprised that not a one of you sad sacks has mentioned it yet.

Considering the quality of most Sega games these days I'd rather they left most of their series dead and un-bastardized.

Why would you use the word classic "lightly" for Sega games? They ARE classics, and there isn't much you can really do about it.

#60 had it right - why hasn't anyone mentioned the Wonderboy series? Wonderboy in Monsterland and (especially) Wonderboy III: Dragon's Trap are the greatest games ever made for the SMS, and WBoy III should be placed at the top of the list of greatest action RPGs ever made. To see that game on the Wii would be fantastic!

I vote for
A really cool side-scrolling 3d sonic (with flava like the new mario ds title), so gameplay like classic sonic, but with lots of cool tricks
Alex Kidd (was that sega) with side scrolling play
phantasy star single player
Skies of Arcadia absolutely

Also, the linked article said that Streets of Rage should be a 2d title. I disagree. With the capabilities of today's machines it should definitely be 3d. But PLAY like a 2D game.

The problem with 3d games is usually cameras. Keep the camera in the same spot as SOR classic, no over-the-shoulder BS. And supplement 3D with cel shading and style.

ive actually hoped for a Streets of Rage sequel or remake for some time now. i loved the second one. one of my favorite genesis games (next to Toe Jam and Earl :) ). ive often wondered how it would look as a 3D beat um up especially with the graphics we have today.

There can only be one answer.

Daytona USA.

It was the first game I fell in love with, and I loved Daytona 2. Daytona 3 is long overdue, IMHO...
