Halo 3 commercial JUST aired [update 1]

That was pretty badass, but I was hoping for more. Absolutely beatiful CG though. Hearing MC's voice after so long...it was good enough for now.

i got so excited when master chief was running. he didnt run far but it was awesome.

i so hope the actual game looks close to that too. haha.

Wow! Took me off guard and I LOVED IT! As an Eagles fan it looks like that will be the highlight of my evening.

Why don't we just pay the company that did that add to do the halo movie? Cuz that was freaking SWEET!!!

That was SO much more than I expected. Despite the fact that its cg...I really don't care, it was so well made. Totally left me wanting more haha

Wow. I didn't even think it was a the commercial at first. I was laying in bed cuz I've been sick, but I've been following Halo 3 all day. And then I realized it was CG. Then I listened and they said something like "Do you think we'll ever meet them?" And I thought it had to be it. Overall, I thought it was extremely well done. And I agree that's how the Halo movie should be done. And just hearing Master Chief's voice made it that much better. Can't wait to download it. Once again, very well done.

On my DVR...Sweetness. Lil' guy in the grass was Master Chief in the future, reaches out to the young market. Nice touch.

I hope to see other vignettes soon, maybe other MNFs or even Super Bowl.

Absolutely fantastic! It was only a CG movie, but it got my adrenaline pumping! I'm so ready for Halo 3!

why all the x button speculating?? they specifically said that this add DID NOT REFLECT GAME GRAPHICS OR GAMEPLAY, why does everyone all of a sudden htink that x is active shielding??

I hope that shield thing is what the X does. I loved the trailer, btw. It was so dramatic and movie-live, and increased the hype meter exponentially.

The Commercial is 60 Seconds long - it just seems to go by so fast.

The commercial was freaking awesome! It definetly felt shorter then 60 seconds. Maybe thats because only like 40 secs of it was of the game. Well CG wise anyway. Still Kick ass though.

Yup, Eagles fan, too. DEFINITELY the highlight of the evening. I agree with other posters...why not just make a CG halo movie. Straight it to delivery over XBLM! It would be HUGE!

It was definately not 60 seconds.

Starts off with two kids lying in the grass, one of which is the master chief. They lie down and talk about life in the universe, and then the one kid says "Do you think we'll ever meet them?" Master Chief replies "I hope so, don't you?" and then the screen turns to him looking at his helmet. Master Chief is having a flashback. An explosion goes off and he awakes in the middle of the African desert. You can tell this because there is a huge storm very similar to the storm in the first E3 trailer. Everything is slightly tinted grey because he is still gaining consciousness. He sits up and puts on his helmet. You hear the little boy talk again and his hearing is a little off until a Marine chimes in. They question whether he is alive when Master Chief responds in his normal badass way. He stands up and you can see in the distance the huge storm from possibly the ark. He grabs what could be the new "spike grenade" and throws it down to shield himself from the incoming wraith blast. He gets up, starts SPRINTING (could be new to the game), grabs his shotgun off of his back and jumps down on 6 wraiths with headlights, 13 enemies not yet identified, and 1 "more powerful" figure with what looks like a brute staff and bright armor. And that is it. Comments anyone?

FYI: The video on the Marketplace comes with chapter stops to help you with finding hidden secrets.

So far, my biggest question is, if the one boy is a young Master Chief, could the other boy possibly be a future Spartan too? Perhaps this is a clue to giving player 2 a backstory in co-op?

I haven't played Halo 2 since, well, forever. This commercial gave me goosebumps and butterflies in my stomach. It looks like Gears is going back in its box for a little Halo nostalgia!

Um yea. That was decent. It looked pretty good but it was CG and it showed about nothing besides the force field. Overhyped commercial, game is getting way, way overhyped and I am excited about it too.

You can seriously hear Cortana's voice, just listen closely to when he's putting his helmet on, something about the chief and then I can't quite tell.

Does anyone know where to download a large version of it?? Should be about 40-50mb or so... I tried to capture it myself with a DV Bridge and make a movie file to play myself but the audio captured was messed up. And the ones I keep seeing online are tiny and messed up. Also, the one on xbox.com won't even load on my mac... sux...

Erm well that was worth all the hype... some cheesy American garbage dialogue and like 5 seconds of Halo footage. If they showed that at an English football match I think everyone who was waiting for it would have started a soccer riot in disappointment haha

Just one more reason why the Halo movie should be totally GC!! just use Mo-cap like Polar Express and it will be awsome.

They actually all the objects used in that commercial were taken from Bungie the company polished it all up. The game is actually going to look like this.

So does anyone else think that the little boy and girl are the Chief and Cortana as kids and they were both in the same Spartan class? but since Coratan's body couldn't take it she was turned in to an AI and now her 7 years is up and she's turning rampant (listen to I love bees again that's all that was running in my head while playing Halo 2)?
