Rumor: Alan Wake slips to 2008
TVG reports that US Official Xbox Magazine has published news of further Alan Wake delays. According to the publication, Remedy's psychological thriller has been pushed back to 2008.The first details about Alan Wake surfaced back in April 2005 when Remedy revealed it was working on a new title for PC and "next generation" consoles. Since that time, Microsoft has secured exclusive-console rights to the game.

Can you say "the next 'too human'"?
Not 100% the same (for those of you who don't know, Too Human started as a PSX game, then N64, then GameCube, then, XBox, and not a 360 game...) but I wonder if this title will suffer from the same fate that Duke Nukem does?

Someone forgot to close the italics tag in the HTML, someone's gotta fix that one. :D

BURN!!!!

hey, as long as the game rocks when it comes out, i don't care when it comes out

This game looks AMAZING.
Would it be considered a new genre? Or will it be along the lines of Resident Evil? Combat with the evil creatures or just crazy psychological stuff?

This blows. I loved Max Payne 1. It is the only game, in better than two decades of gaming, that I have restarted right after I finished it, and then beat it again, all within a few days. Awesome game. 2 wasn't quite as good. ****ing escort missions. Despite that, I am REALLY looking forward to this game.

Hey they can take as much time as they need for this game. I think they should let it when it is ready.

This sucks. I was looking forward to this because there aren't that many unique games on the X360. The other one I was looking forward to was Metronome, but there's been no news on that one for over a year. Oh well, at least Bioshock's coming out soon.

I agree with #4. As long as this game delivers on the psychological thrills, I could care less because this game looks amazing.
Andy @ Dec 5th 2006 1:15AM
hey, better that they take their time to make the game good, right?

I was really looking forward to this game in January as well, gutted but I hope it lives up the hype in the end, not sure why its delayed though as i though the PC version was nearly done

They keep harping on about quad core support and how the game takes advantage of four cores. So its likely that they've hit loads of bugs entering the testing stage 'cos it probably runs quite badly on single core systems.

That screenshot hurts my eyes.
carg0 @ Dec 4th 2006 5:14PM
and with that delay Wake has officially become irrelevant, which is a shame because it looked like it had potential.

Microsoft has done more than "secure exclusive-console rights" to the game.
Microsoft Game Studios is the PUBLISHER.

Directly from Remedy's forum by Remedy themselves:
We haven't announced anything on the release date. Once we do, you'll definitely hear about it here.
I'm really happy with all the recent progress O:-)
