aren't too many. Think of it this way: you could get an A and a C in two classes, or you could get a bunch of B's and every so often an A. That was what SNES vs. Genesis was to me. SNES had a ton of all right games, but a few that changed the world. Genesis had a lot of crap, but a few gems that sparkled in between the grains of sand of mediocrity. With that in mind, I stumbled across this list of the 10 SEGA franchises that deserve another shot -- because, let's admit it, SEGA doesn't pay attention to what it should. These games were amazing then and still are now. Agree or disagree, here's the list of franchises that need another entry:- ChuChu Rocket
- Samba de Amigo
- Legend of Oasis
- Ecco the Dolphin
- Phantasy Star (I would literally kill to see another turn-based PS game. Kill for you, SEGA.)
- Skies of Arcadia (now, I know this was rumored but I can't find the source... but this was originally called "Project Ares" and was supposed to be a new Phantasy Star... it had a lot of the original PS staff, but the direction was changed mid-production and became a new franchise. Even so, it reeeeally deserves a sequel, prequel, or a whole new world unrelated, a la Final Fantasy, with the same basic premise of exploration and discovery)
- Panzer Dragoon Saga
- Streets of Rage (The second one is a personal favorite -- it came bundled with my Genesis! But the original article has it right, SEGA: keep it 2D. High-res, please.)
- NiGHTS into Dreams (This one practically goes without saying. Anyone who played it would love to see another adventure like this)
- Shenmue (yes.)
What do you guys think? Are you tired of Sonic and a bunch of "decent" SEGA titles? Ready to get these amazing franchises back in action? Leave us your thoughts.
