"He attributes the increase to the new platforms, like the Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and PS3, which are showing a jump of 131% over this time last year."

If you think the DS well give the 360 and PS3 a run, just wait until the Nintendo Wii hits in a few years...

I expect for the Wii and Xbox 360 to contribute to most of the next-gen sales, simply because there aren't enough PS3s and the system is vastly over-priced. The video game industry has been growing rapidly for over a decade, and I'm not suprised to see yet another increase in profits.

As covered in the Daily Show.... Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Identity Theft Tuesday.

Hmm, 5 years of waiting has paid off. The question now is would it make much of a difference if I get a PS2 now or wait yet another year? The console and many of its games already run for

The PS3 has jumped 131% over last year? The PS3 production costs are high or low...with the wii clumped togeter with the PS3?

Hire some editors.

did microsoft even predict 700,000 units? and by those numbers, didn't the 360 outsell the wii for november? it wouldn't be fair to compare sales numbers with the ps3, given their production issues, but nintendo has been stockpiling wiis for months.

Used Software cannablizes new software. If I spent $1000 on a PS3 though I probably have a 52" HDTV and 6.1 sourround sound, I wish. If I had all that I wouldn't care about paying $50 to play the newest madden game, plus to play online you have to buy the newest versions...
