Deadwood star replaces Vin Diesel in Hitman movie
No, not Swearengen! Vin Diesel has been replaced by Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant as star of the upcoming Hitman movie, reports Ain't It Cool News. Bullock as Agent 47? Perhaps Olyphant's range as an actor will lend itself to the role of a brooding sociopath -- more so than what "The Pacifier" could bring to the big screen.Whatever the outcome, Skip Woods has completed his script, and the Hitman project has received the greenlight, with Luc Besson (Transporter 2) recently climbing aboard as co-producer. Hitman could be in theatres as early as next fall. We ain't holding our breath.

I personally met Tim and hung out with him on the set of a movie called Coastlines. He was cool as fuck and a real professional. We got to watch a house blow up. Great times. The drug dealer role in Go is my favorite of his.
ElTiante @ Dec 5th 2006 11:26AM
Bullock was the toughest cocksucker in Deadwood!
polly @ Dec 5th 2006 11:26AM
How retarded is Hollywood to have even considered Vin Diesel as Agent 47?
"So the character in this Hitman movie is bald. Ok, which actors do we know are bald?"
"Well, Vin Diesel is bald sir."
"Brilliant!"
john @ Dec 5th 2006 12:22PM
He was also the pimp in 'the girl next door' and a hick in a recent episode of 'my name is earl'.
Fuzz @ Dec 5th 2006 11:51AM
I'd like to see Danny DeVito as agent 47. He can be very convincing.
AmgKmpsR @ Dec 5th 2006 11:45AM
This one would be perfect for Jason Statham
BW @ Dec 5th 2006 11:34AM
How does Vin loose this role, he is the freakin executive producer (or atleast is according to IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465494/fullcredits)
Urbanstorm @ Dec 5th 2006 11:52AM
I think he's a great choice! He is awsome in deadwood (the only western show i ever watched) and a great all around actor (he was funny in a girl next door).
The only thing is..........................I can't picture him bald.
Frank N Stein @ Dec 5th 2006 11:46AM

#7 could not be more right. I'm personally outraged that this part is not going to Jason Statham. When I saw Transporter, I thought to myself "Oh, look! Agent 47 can drive!" He looks *just* like him.
Make it happen, Hollywood guys.
mrfreeze @ Dec 5th 2006 12:39PM
I agree. Jason Straham would be perfect as agent 47. The guy can outmanuver cops and bad guys. He even has the suits he wears to pull it off nicely. His voice is even well suited as if when playing the hitman games something that Agent 47 sounds like. Jason Stratham is something like an anti-hero. Whelp, here goes another Hollywood videogame screw up. Thanks Hollywood for making us feel embarrassed for watching these sad adaptions.

Tim used to write for a computer game magazine, too. Forgot which one.
Bennyishere @ Dec 5th 2006 4:18PM
Damn... I hate Bullock! I always roll my eyes when I see him on Deadwood. I hate the expression on his face... He does not look like a hitman!
Vin Diesel isn't exactly the greatest actor, but at least he looks tough. Bullock looks like a nerd that has been picked up by the Extreme Makeover team :P
I agree with Jason Statham being the best choice.
daeval @ Dec 5th 2006 12:13PM
He looks like he'll be a much better fit, but I'm having a hard time finding a clean-shaven picture of him where he's not wearing an ear-to-ear goofy smile.
Plus, Irony: http://imdb.com/gallery/ss/0266465/ama_CN028-31.jpg.html?path=pgallery&path_key=Olyphant,%20Timothy&seq=52

I find it hilarious that James Ransom-Wiley chose to mention Luc Besson's affiliation with Transporter 2 (a rather lackluster bit of cinema) as opposed to other movies such as Léon (The Professional) and The 5th Element. A much better cinematic lineage than Transporter 2 would lead you to believe.
Mike Schramm @ Dec 5th 2006 1:31PM
Olyphant is freaking awesome, and a terrific actor. He was the best reason to watch Girl Next Door (and that includes the 24 girl as a porn star).
JAC @ Dec 5th 2006 2:01PM
Vin Diesel as agent 47 would have been a terrible choice, not like Vin is huge or anything, but agent 47 has a lean looking physique, he draws all of his menacing character from his face.

I thought this whole time they were going to use Statham as 47. This is disappointing to me.
Amos @ Dec 5th 2006 5:57PM
They must already thing Statham "already played this role" as the Transporter or is too big of a star now or something, because he IS the perfect hitman. I would like to Statham in more movies. He's a great actor and would've been a wonderful fit for this. Retards.
Merirosvo @ Dec 5th 2006 4:23PM
Ok, this like awesome news becouse Vin "Pacifier" Diesel don´t know how to act... But Im still skeptic, is there anymore proofs for this ? IMDB still says starring role goes to Mr. Bad Actor.
OTAM @ Dec 5th 2006 6:30PM
Well thaaaaaaank god. Someone out there is looking out for me and canned that little tit Vin Diesel. The only thing even remotely in common 47 and Vin have are the bald heads. Vin is a big, muscular guy while Agent 47 is a very small-built fellow.
mike @ Dec 5th 2006 6:38PM
OK JUST an off question is the HITMAN italian because most HITMAN come from Sicily
rastaman @ Dec 6th 2006 2:56AM
Luc Besson (Transporter 2)? What about Luc Besson (Fifth Element)? Respect.
Erik Andreas @ Dec 7th 2006 7:04AM
One thing here. Jason Statham does not look like 47. He has similar looks yes, but Jason is as british as you can get it thus making his voice fucked up. He's small compared to 47, and his face is just simply wrong. Jason has more of a good-guy look to his face, and he's a social guy who talks a lot. All the movies he's in he talks a lot, it's kinda his trademark to talk with that british accent. 47 barely talks at all, and looks grim.
And we all know the Transporter was a kind of rip-off of Hitman. David Bateson (who 47 is actually modelled after) or Timothy Olyphant are the best choices here.
47 is unique.
And by the way, I'm glad Diesel finally decided to get out of this movie.
Bobby Graham @ Jan 13th 2007 3:05PM
Thank goodness somebody mentioned David Bateson, his voice is perfect(as the original) and already fits Agent 47's description!
Robias6 @ Feb 18th 2007 5:05PM
I personally think that David Bateson should get the role. After all HE IS 47!!!!! He's the soul reason 47 looks and sounds the way he does. My only 'beef' with casting Bateson as 47 is that i feel Bateson would need to 'buff up' abit. The 47 in the games does have a very menacing build. But i suppose if you look at how Bateson is in 'God Moves in Mysterious ways', it's like a watered down version of how the character 47 should be anyway. Remove the emotional, in depthness of 'od Moves...' and adopt a more stern, to the point kinda attitude and it's there! Why he lost the campaign to star as 47 i don't know, whoever is in charge of casting that film is off by a long-long-shot, firstly by even considering Diesel and secondly by naming Olyphant as 47 at current. The bulletin says, 'we ain't holding our breath', well, by reading the above neither are a WHOLE bunch of us!
