I think it's kinda cool. Always loved Sim games and will likely buy this one when it comes out. Unless it tanks in reviews like Zoo Tycoon did.

However, for full-on motion stirring, what I'd really like to see is a port of Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Ahh... EA, when it wasn't evil.

Now hurry up and give us M.U.L.E.

I got this game as a gift back in the day, and then it wouldn't run due to some weird DOS crap. I sure don't miss those days!

I'm very much looking forward to this but how about a makeover - this looks EXACTLY like a 10-year-old port!

If it was Theme Hospital, then I would probably be camped outside EA's HQ already with some sort of ballistic persuasion device, begging and threatening them to take my money.

I was also a fan of this back in the 'day ... but even I would be somewhat hesitant to shell out more $$$ just to play it on my DS. Hopefully it'll end up being more than just a generic port ... it'd be awesome if they added an "enhanced" more or something with a bunch of new rides, buildings, characters, etc. That'd make it worth buying for sure.

It's EA, it's another port, it's another pass. EA may be one of the biggest developers in the world but they are one of the worst for original content and quality product.

This is no generic sim, this is Bullfrog's and Peter Molyneux's epic Theme Park. I loved this game so much as a kid, and i had it for the genesis. This is a 12 year old game much worthy of a port.

My sisters lived and breathed Theme Park when it was released on Sega Saturn. When I tell them about this, they will be proud owners of a DS.

I'm kinda excited myself. Those games were designed from the ground up for a point and click interface. They totally need to port Command & Conquer, Starcraft, and ScummVM games.

Geriatric sim?!

Pagans!

As a previous poster said, if this came bundled with Theme Hospital, I'd break down EA's doors and steal the prototype. Those 2 games were awesome in the way that few games are. Stupid DOS emulation.

Wait, EA is bringing SimCity to the DS? Cool! I'm glad to see a sim game, even if it's the ancient one, on the system. Let's hope it will turn out better than SimCity 2000 did on the Advance.

Theme Park was a very interesting game and intriguing to note how much RollerCoaster Tycoon borrowed from it. I liked Theme Park's open-ended goals a lot better than Tycoon's "scenario-driven" gameplay. But, at the same time, Theme Park certainly had some show-stopping issues. The worst part was spending a fortune on a ride only to learn that a dumb little NPC was stuck under it and now you had to destroy your ride to "save them." User will not be held responsible for actions of dumb NPCs!

This is one of the best games from the past, probably what spawned the rollercoaster tycoon series and all other theme parks sims around today. It was one of the excellent Bulffrog games from Peter Molyneux (Created Lionhead Studios - Black & White 1/2, Fable, Movies).

I'd love to see his other games such as Theme Hospital and Dungeon keeper make an appearence on the DS.

Good old Bull Frog!

I remeber this being one of the first games i played on the PC back in the day and i spent hours and hours just creating the most massive and symetrical park i could, 10 years later i found a copy for £1.00 and thought, hey why not!? but to no avail! XP & 12 year old DOS programs dont mix, So i will be really happy when this comes out for the DS and will be a sure purchase to re-live my childhood gaming years mopping up kids sick and throwing them off rollercoasters!

Yeah, kinda like this sentence. How about throwing a little punctuation in there? You know...for the kids?

I'm glad that games like this are coming out, it lets you play your old favorite games on a mobile platform and thats just great.

And whislt I may not be getting excited about theme park, I am very much excited about the other retro title.. The Settlers, I loved that game, and am glad to see it come to the DS.

"Anyone stirred by the motion?"

No. Because it's EA, it'll be buggy and they'll charge $50 for it.

Theme Park may have been flawed (the "person trapped underneath ride" issue being the biggest one I remember), but it's pretty freaking great and a good match for the DS.

So the conversion list from the glory days of PC gaming is down to CivII, Railroad Tycoon (c'mon, the RRT2 engine would be ideal for the DS), Master of Orion and some sort of early-era RTS.

Oh, and the king-daddy of all those... X-COM.
