I agree that Digital Unrest was brilliant and very witty. The flaw is that it is too obscure, needing a webcomic-reading gamer who knows math to understand the joke. Nonetheless, I loved it.

I'm glad Penny Arcade lost. That comic was the only video-game related comic they produced all week, and it wasn't even colored!

However, VGCats only produces one comic a week. I think I would like Penny Arcade if they did the same - only release the one funny game-related comic they produce each week, and keep their usual crappy filler material out of the comic.

I think you forgot to link the winning comic, you linked just about every comic except the winning one. XD

The DU comic left me confused, I know what a Vector and an Integral are, but what is a Vectorman? And what's the point of a vector and an integral talking about shooting someone?

Thanks a ton to Ross and everyone who enjoyed (and even those who read but did not enjoy) the Vectorman comic. I did realize (after completing the comic in full) that the math angle used might be lost on a whole lot of people. I'm a bit regretful that many of DU's comics are not as accessible to the average reader as those of the more popular gamer comics - but at the same time, I'm happy because these are the comics I enjoy making. I'm not making DU for fame or fortune, and more people already read the comic (thanks to Joystiq) than I ever imagined possible, so I'm okay with the fact that a lot of DU's content such as that dealing with I AM ERROR or math symbols, for instance, garners more to a certain subset of gamers rather than gamer-dom as a whole. Again, thanks to all who stopped by and looked at the comic and a big congratulations to this week's winners.

My friend actually did this when we got TP on launch day. We fell on the floor laughing.

Tyagi, Vectorman was the hero of the self-titled Genesis game (and sequel):

Chris, I liked your comic for this week. I got the math joke without needing to read the blurb. :D
But, I had voted for Press Start to Play, instead... since I did the same exact thing when I got my Wii and Twilight Princess... Because I am a turbo-nerd.

You guys need to pay attention to the comment below Tim's. About opening in new tabs or new windows. It sucks ass to view something then hit back to view something else.

@2:

I don't want to ruin DU's joke, so all I'll say is that Vectorman is an old video game character. I played his game on the Sega Genesis.

I personally licked my copy of Twilight Princess right when I got it. Then I started a orgy of about 5 of us as we licked our game cases waiting for the bus.

Good times.

If you read the post you’ll see it wasn’t colored because I was snowed in at my house and could not get to the office. I had to take a photo of the comic I drew because I had no scanner. We have not missed a day in eight years and I wasn’t going to miss one because of snow :)

Personally I think you guys should just leave us off the list. If it causes so much trouble then don’t put us on there. I'm not even sure it's fair to call PA a webcomic. It's certainly not how we think of oursleves.

They were all pretty awful this week. I did throw in a vote for DU. More for a nice Vectorman reference than the actual joke.

That's interesting, Gabe. How WOULD you describe yourself, then?

I think of PA as a game news and opinion site. Part of it is a news post and part of it is a comic strip.

Dang, if I knew enough math, I might have been able to get that DU. Unfortunately, though, I don't. Sucks for me.

Anyways, I guess I'll nominate basically my lone gaming comic this week. Oh, and if you don't get it. Just think of it for a little bit.
