The sense of speed is alarming.

Anyone else kinda... well... unimpressed by that video? Everything seems so flat...

Is the video in slow motion, or are those cars just driving very slowly?

The video is in slow motion, it gets closer to real speed as it fades from Black and white to Color. Maybe its the quality of the video, but at the pictures of the cars at the end renders or photos? I couldn't tell, I think they were just pictures. This was like a Sony & Nissan commercial o.o

As a firm believer that there is no greater simulated racing experience than Gran Turismo, that sucked.

#5... Try Forza... Great simulation racing needs better AI and damage modeling of which the GT series has neither.

Screw that, I want more Volkswagen love. Seriously, the only real sporty car that GT4 had from VW was the R32. No Corrado?!

the reason its called the G35 is because thats the chasis its built on (type name)..

And yes, put more VW`s in. I`d love to see how they`d emulate DSG for my GTI

"the reason its called the G35 is because thats the chasis its built on"

Well, not to mention that the G35/Skyline bears basically no relation whatsoever to the car Jonti was probably actually talking about (given that this *is* a Gran Turismo post), the Skyline GT-R. The Skyline GT-R was almost a totally different platform than the base Skyline even when that generation was current (the R34), but the current G35/Skyline is just a wholly different car altogether. It's a new generation, and there is no such car as the Skyline GT-R any longer.

This is a previous-gen (R34) Skyline GT-R: http://www.auto.vl.ru/gt/pictures/skylinegtr7.jpg

This is the current Skyline: http://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/SPECIAL/top.html

A little different, eh?

Nissan does have plans to reintroduce the GT-R in 2007-2008, but it will just be the "Nissan GT-R" (including within the USA). As the previous-gen Skyline GT-R had basically no relation to the namesake on which it was supposedly based, the new GT-R will drop the Skyline name altogether.

Which is all my roundabout, long-winded way of saying the car in question here is the GT-R, *not* the Skyline. The Skyline is a fairly pedestrian family sedan and always has been. The GT-R is a separate car; the Japanese equivalent of the Mustang.

Alright, I just watched the video, and it *is* confusing. They do show the current Skyline at one point. But the car at the end is the Nissan GT-R. It is not a Skyline.

Blame Nissan for the confusion; they forked off the GT-R from the Skyline lineage some years ago and just kept using the Skyline name. They've now finally fixed that, but Sony's mixing them up in this footage. (There's never a shot of a current Skyline racing here, but they do have some static shots.)

Thanks for clearing that up, Jeff!

So, yeah, where I've written "Skyline" and "Skyline sports motor," please read "GT-R."

(I think that's right, isn't it, Jeff?)

God this site is so full of whiners its amazing. Your dislike of this clip has absolutly nothing to do with the actual clip but rather with what platform the game will be on.

The game is AGES from beeing released so please use your head. GT5 will be amazing and if anyone doubts that you can just look at the previous work that Polyphony Digital has released. Im sure some of you hate Polyphony Digital too. Is not that sad? Hating a great developer just so you can be some corporate tool.

You guys are pathetic, I find it offensive that you actually call yourselves gamers.
