The Lost Planet community blog (part of the overall community site) has been updated with an interview with Art Director, Takahiro Kawano, and Director, Kenji Oguro. The interview covers some of the creators' original inspirations (Kurosawa FTW!) as well as what went into the design process for the game. It's a lengthy read, essentially covering the life of the whole project, and it also includes many pieces of concept art and design sketches.
