K4rn4ge to attempt 1 billion-point Geometry Wars high score

As if his leaderboard-topping score of 360,360,600 isn't enough, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved celeb K4rn4ge has revealed plans to attempt to reach the one billion-point mark during his upcoming winter break.

The "Geometry Warlord" estimates that his current high score (he stopped at the 360 million-mark on purpose) took him at least 30 hours, spread across four days of playing. At that pace, his new goal could exceed 90 hours of thumb twirling. Whad'ya think, Guinness Record worthy?

Dude, 360mil is damn good score. But if you are seriously going to go for the 1billion, then you should get in contact with Twin Galaxies for an official high score...

I don't exactly know the criteria for the final difficulty increases(I think it's some sort of combination of points and time), but somewhere around 3-7 million, the game stops getting harder. From there on out it is a matter of endurance, focus, and fighting off the desire to play something else when you get bored.

Whoa, kiddos..... it was a "joke".... i'm married and have a toddler, and a still consider myself a "hardcore" gamer... so am i still aloud to joke around, or does that eliminate my opinion from the might Joystiq Ranks?

Thus, i can definitely respect what Karnage (i'm not f****g with all the numbers and symbols, so Karnage it is) is doing. That's a helluva high score. Period. Bravo, well done.

Bottom line? IT WAS A JOKE. I'm sure Mr. Karnage has a fabulous girlfriend, job, etc.

Jealousy? Ignorance? I was thinking more or less 'comedy"... i'm sure Karnage can handle a little good natured ribbing. Plus, it's fun to perpetuate loser gamer stereotypes. Why you ask? Irony, friends. Every gamer i know is either a student, successful citizen, or a family man. Gamer's = nerds is like soooooo 1992. Gaming is a viable entertainment medium, and thus.... you could just as easily say "People who watch movies don't have girlfriends"

Well, I love Geometry Wars, and my current high score is 4.1 million. Me and a friend has a small competition for about half a year before I got that far, then he quit on me.

Anyways, I'd like to say congrats on 360 million, and good luck with one billion for Geometry Wars, Karnage. The people who bitch and whine need to wake up and stop being so damned ignorant on the internet. I think it's great to have a goal, whether for a game, a job, or something social. At least you gives you something to shoot for. Again, good luck, and I really hope you do achieve it!
