Resistance multiplayer patch: better balance, more strategy

I haven't experienced any major balance issues. I find the default Carbine machine gun to be little overpowered, which takes away some of the incentive to master other weapons like the Auger.

I'd prefer Insomniac focus on getting Resistance to hook into the main buddy list like every other PS3 game does.

No, it's the patch that you sew onto your PS3 to make it look like a 360 because you're embarassed to own Sony's new console.

A game just isn't fun unless it has 5 year outdated graphics, no online play, and laggy laggy controls.

It's the 17 gig patch to make this padded POS game need blu-ray. Gears of War FTW!!

They need to stop making patches and get to work on another Ratchet and Clank. Then I would consider a PS3. I don't really see graphics helping that game a whole lot what would really be cool is putting hundreds of enemies on screen to just mow over with you're weapons kind of like in dead rising. Is the PS3 capable of that?

That's good news. Its always good to see a developer support a game. Its a shame they use the "very soon" instead of a date though. Always drives me nuts when they do that. I'm a big fan of the Hard Launches that Nvidia and ATI do.... just tell me when its ready.

I'm an Xbox fan but I gotta say that this game looks great.

If I walk into a store and happen to stumble on a PS3 then I'll buy it and this game. You know something is good if you answer "yes" to this question "if this game were on the 360 would I buy it?"

The game's multiplayer is already great in my opinion. But I'm looking forward to any updates that help the team matches be more team-based. CTF and Breach can sometimes be dependent on the skill of one individual.

But seriously, I haven't had this much fun playing FPS multiplayer since the original Goldeneye.

It's great to see them approaching the "we can make it even better" approach while they're working hard on another R&C game. It truly is a sign of a committed development team.

B33, smart enough to buy an American console with actually games and gameplay. Bow before your Asian master. You have been duped out of $600. The game data is only 4.7 gigs, all regions are on the disk, plus padding.

This reminds me of the Halo 2 multiplayer patch, that tweaked weapon damange, grenade blast area, and so on, that came out---what, like 4 months after the game was out or something? That was a great patch, and it looks like this will be the same approach. Good for them!

Can anyone else think of other games that got this kind of patch for improvement (as opposed to bug/cheat fixing)?

Hey Insomniac, how about a patch to allow 1080i output so I can actually play the game?

20 people is way too many for team-based strategic gameplay. I have yet to play this game, or a PS3 at all, but can anyone who has tell me if it's a huge mass of random talking when in-game?

Sometimes on Gears of War it's a mess of words if 3 people talk lol, imagine 20, let alone 40 in the pre-game lobby.

I just don't get all the hate towards this game from Xbox fans. It is like they are afraid of a game that can equal a Halo. If there was competition, wouldn't this cause the makers of Halo to try and develop and even better product?

As of right now, I own a 360 and a PS3. Between the two launches, I have been more impressed with the PS3. Everything about the 360 launch screamed "Rushed Out the Door." Yet a year later, I am still not that impressed with the software support. Yes the graphics to Gears of Wars beats any PS3 game thus far. In my opinion, Gears could have been so much more. It just seems that Microsoft likes to get things out the door this generation in order to "just get it out there" in an attempt to beat Sony. The Xbox owners, who can honestly say that the online and story component to Gears was not rushed. The story was too short and the amount of people online in a given map is horrible. Where are the choices for $50 a year, do we really need all the game previews for this amount of money. I would prefer better online matches any day of the week.

Maybe Microsoft needs to stop trying to rush things out the door in order to beat Sony to the market first or get a game out the door before the launch of the PS3. It would have been nice to see Gears in development for another 6 months. Instead, a patch will come out with a few new things and charge people $15.00 or however many Microsoft points equals that value.

I did not think there was no way Sony would be able to create an online severvice that did the job. I have been completely impressed so far with their games and their online support. The best thing about it; it is free. I hardly ever experience any lag from Resistance and Ridge Racer. It is nice to see matches that include 40 people and 14 player races. To me, that is next-gen entertainment online. Is anyone else tired of 6-12 player matches online for $50 a year?

LOL i love how xbox 360 fans hate the ps3 turned out so great and try to bash it cause they bought a 360 (or more then likely their daddy did and won't now dish out the doe so soon for a ps3)and i had a 360 and it stoped working after a month and this ps3 is GREAT!!!!!!....so now the crying about fall of man patch?
