They should follow the MS model.. announce an update on 'player friendly' Mjr. Nelson.. then when it starts bricking consoles, just ignore the issue and carry on, business as usual.

!! ill try installing FFXI tonight and see if it works.
(just remember that a FULL FFXI+RotZ+CoP+ToA might take a long while to install)
Im really hoping this works.. as ive quit ffxi untill the ps3 can play it, and cant wait to get back to it.

This is what I like about the 360, we never hear about most of the updates!

just every now and again u turn on ur 360 and it takes a few minutes updating and away you go!

im really starting to lose interest in the ps3 now (£425??? lol) and I havent been into a game shop in northern ireland yet where they are excited about it, yet alone promoting it or taking preorders. when I ask they tell me that it wont sell and that the 360 is the way to go, even in the likes of gamestop

off topic, anyways the 360 update system is inherently better than the ps3's seems to be, endof!

I think its sad Sony doesn't have a Major Nelson for the PS3. It seems they dont take into account north america PS3 users. We need somebody to tell us atleast whats going on and give us updates as well as to complain too. After spending 600 for a system i love they can just throw us a little end user support. I think we need to petition Sony for some end user support.

They are following the 360 model. You must remember they are a year behind. Expect houses on fire soon.

We don't have to worry about Sony's nutsack getting cold anytime soon. ">" invariably coddles Sony nuts 24/7 like they're his two week old infant.

So to recap, Xbox 360 owners:

* Are kidding themselves that it is preferable to not know when their console is due for an update - it is better for it to just update on its own without the user knowing what is going on

* Still get a weensy bit upset when reminded of the whole "sorry we bricked your console gosh was that embarrassing" incident.

not 360s updates that brick consoles and dont tell you theyre updating.

i for one am hoping this works out... how i wish to get back to my ffxi life.. or my non-life.. or whatever happens when you play these mmo's
