Saneless, that's not true, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 sold a combined total of 13.6 million, whereas Halo 2 sold 8 million. Metal Gear Solid 3 sold 3.6 million, for a total of 18.2 million for the first three games in the MGS series. In comparison, the
Halo series has sold 14.7 million.

I'll be generous and estimate that Sony has shipped 600,000 units in since launch (about 4 weeks ago). That's 150,000 units per week.

Now Sony wants to ship approximately 1.5 million units in about 2 weeks. That's 750,000 units per week.

Those produciton issues had better be completely solved, because Sony is looking to ship PS3s at approximately 5 times the previous rate.

Oops, that's 1.4 million units, or 700,000 units per week. Anyway, my point remains the same: unless Sony's been stockpiling PS3s or something, the chances of meeting this prediction are slim to none.

One ? why is it that MGS is always talked about in the Sony camp as .. OHHH my wait for MGS..? I see it as this. MGS doesn't have the pull it once did. If MGS 1 and 2 sold 13.6 million, that averages to 6.8 for each title. Now MGS sells okay in europe, US, and Japan. That =s to 2.26mil per region. (estimate only, not 100% accurate) Sony has sold 35 million in US, so that accounts to 6% attach rate per title in the US. Dont even let me bring up #'s of MGS 3 as it sold half of that of 1 and 2. Leads me to believe MGS franchise is loosing alot of steam. Now Halo. They sold 14.7 total. Reality is only in 2 regions as japan only sold total of 50,000 copies of both combine. So 14.7 now = 14.65 in two regions. Average for both titles are 7.3 mil for each title. In US that averages to 3.65 mil per title. Xbox sold 14.37 mil in the US.

Attach rate in the US are 25%. Compare that to 6%.?
Thats why to me MGS is not a threat to Halo. Not especially after how MGS 3 did. Now imagine how US has 3.4mil 360 sold and Gears sold 1 million.? That is almost 30% attach rate. More than what Halo did.

I dont care that sony isnt dong good, hect i didnt even get any of those words the article said. i couldnt care less, ps3 will do good, i mean sony ALWAYS does good, sony doesnt just make trash and puts them on shelves for people to buy. i want a ps3 really bad, when i was a bestbuy i bought one but then someone stuck a gun up to me and i got robbed of it. i got a job to get another one, so far i worked 5 months and im just 100 dollars away. Hurry up sony! send those ps3's to america... QUICKLY : )

Metal Gear Solid series has sold 18 million units all 3 games combined. Halo 2 sold 8 million.
