Heavenly Star: From Lumines II to iTunes
Q Entertainment recently announced that Heavenly Star, an original song from the recently released Lumines II, is now available on the iTunes Music Store in the U.S. and Japan. What's more, five remixes of the song will be coming to Apple's download service soon, and the song and video will be available as part of the "Heavenly Star Pack" for the Xbox 360's Lumines Live in January. Because, really, who doesn't enjoy paying more for content that should have been in the original game. Cheap gamers who want to sample the Miziguchi-produced song and video without paying can check it out below. Hopefully this announcement will open the floodgates and lead to a wide variety of original game music being made legally available through simple download instead of expensive import. We'd personally love to see some OSTs for Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy and DDR, thrown up on iTunes. Until then, I guess there's always OCRemix. What game soundtracks would you like made available on iTunes?

Uh, yeah, Final Fantasy stuff has been up there for a while now. It was announced at the More Friends concert in Hollywood a year and a half ago.

looks and sounds like a hair care commercial...

Cool. It's on in the UK too. I never thought to look before. If the remixes are good I'm sure it could be a proper chart hit here, or at least in Europe.

Another vote for Chrono Trigger.
The Katamari games too.
And Jet Set/Grind Radio!

I believe the answer you're looking for is Chrono Cross.

talk about an annoyingly catchy song. i wonder if that "heavenly star pack" will be in the "artists pack" or if they just want us to continue buying 3 skins at a time for 10 bucks each >:O

I'VE HAD IT!!! Lumines2 costs 30$+ on PSP and no one complains, but they put it in two packs for the 360 and everyone complains. Back when the PSP came out, the original lumines was 40$ and no one said a single word about the price.
Stop whining for once!

This song is definately one of the more fun tracks in lumines 2. It took place as my favorite to play, knocking "Shake Your Body" to #2.
I don't understand what makes the Lumines series one of the best game series ever, but whatever it is it does it's job well.

Is anyone else really underwhelmed by this song and video? I don't get what all the hype is about. Even the most boring song on the Katamari OST is at least 2.374 times better than this "Heavenly Star" song.
Tamago @ Dec 15th 2006 7:57PM
love the art in the music video
