Stinkles debunks Halo 3 rumor, MS promoter defends it

oh great. so now instead of being forced to play through a crappy arbiter campaign we are forced to play through a crappy brute campaign instead. I really hope this is only available in multiplayer.

Halo 2 ruined the whole immersiveness that Halo had by swapping about between the two characters. It breaks the whole illusion that you ARE the master chief

It's official. Halo is going to hell in a handbasket. In the first halo game the covie were enemies. ENEMIES.

Playing both sides isn't so bad in something like Warcraft... But in Halo: Combat Evolved, fighting for the humans gave me such a drive to win... In Halo 2 it's not as strong, because I feel like im countering the work I've already done (I know you never fight humans but you are still on opposing sides for most of the time.).

I just liked being Master Chief and fighting for the humans. And having Cortana in your head is so much fun.

Anyway, it's just rumour, and playing as a Brute would probably not be that bad. As long as it's Bungie's idea, not just something Microsoft thought would sell a few more. I'd REALLY hate to see this become one of those milked to death franchises like Mario or... Mario.

My prediction: you do NOT play as the Brutes in Halo 3 and the 2.5 mins of footage they are referring to will simply be Halo 2 footage of the Brutes as they explain their backstory. Nothing more.

Jesus joystiq, do your homework. Stinkles is Frankie. A simple trip to HBO would have told you that. Let's see now, do I believe Frankie, or some random asshole. Decisions, decisions.

Adding Brutes wud be awesome if u could go berserk.And the arbiter was nver shot by a human except commander keyes and she was worried about Johnson than anyway.

not gonna say much.. except i will be disappointed if they make brutes playable in 3. There is nothing compelling about them WHAT-SO-EVER.

I really hope the brutes are playable at least in multiplayer. I hate being the cheesy meathead characters. GOW is the worst example of this..the main characters on the COG team all look like juice heads. although master chief isnt nearly as bad.

I will say this one more time, in the hopes that it will stick. STINKLES=FRANKIE. THIS RUMOUR HAS BEEN DEBUNKED! BRUTES ARE NOT PLAYABLE CHARATERS. END OF DISCUSSION.
I find it incredible that Frankie can come out and tell people this rumour is BS, and yet discussion persists.

bungie by the way, by doing this made the game that much more realistic. WHY IN HELL would an ENTIRE race attack another ENTIRE race, and think "we must wipe them all out"
there are always different points of views on every side. and it will show even more when the prophets in the game are so blind. that will start to be seen by their people. therefore the rebelious arbiter ad now the elites as a whole. same will probably happen with soem brutes who see this war as total bullshit.

This week got a little mental, when some of our friends in Belgium "revealed" that a documentary feature would be on Xbox Live Marketplace next week, and "reveal" that the Brutes were playable characters in Halo 3. Well, they're not playable characters."

sounds to me micro is just stirring the viral waters to keep people thinking about halo 3 and xbox 360. while people are grabbing at limited wii's and ps3's

I guess he was right after all... that halo 3 vid is awesome!
