Perhaps you've forgotten the Time Warner Interactive brand that was yet another incarnation of the Atari Games IP.

This is somewhat different than the classic Atari era. It was Warner Communications, not Warner Bros., that was the parent company after buying it off of Nolan Bushnell and running it into the ground with a long list of bad decisions. For Warner Bros., the film and TV division, to be making this investment is a new wrinkle.

Err, I hate to point this out, but Warner Interactive purchased developer Monolith in 2004.

"Not since the Atari days in the 1980s has Warner held any serious hold in the game development front."

Sorry, but in fact, they have.

Yea, and Condemned (developed by Monolith) was freaking sweet. Anyone with an Xbox 360 or a nice PC setup owes themselves to give this game at least a rental.

They may actually make a looney tunes game that is sick and twisted like the old good cartoons were.

To be fair, the SNES-era Looney Tunes games were positively classic. Let's see... Road Runner's Death Valley Rally was hilarious (possibly the funniest ending of any video game ever), Duck Dodgers and the 24 1/2 Century was full of great moments, and Bugs Bunny's Rabbit Rampage was the only video game that had my recommended daily dose of anvils (plus also riffed off of the immortal "Duck Amok" cartoon, often cited as one of the greatest cartoons of all time).

My hope is that they apologize for what Ignition did with the Animaniacs in the Great Edgar Hunt and actually get together a real Animaniacs game, with as much off-the-wall antics as they can fit on a disc.

I'd also like to point out that TW owns Gametap, further proving the "no video game development since the 80s" to be bunk.

yeah the original Carmageddon probably breaks my top 10. It's amazing to think that the censors (the UK censors anyway) insisted on green blood for that game and yet five years later GTA 3 is released completely intact.
