1UP examines the slim chances of scoring a Wii before Christmas as consumers again outlasted the weekend's trapped supply. The site basically deems the thing impossible to buy until next year. From the article: "At a Best Buy in Colma California [Sunday] morning, we spotted over 200 people waiting in line, several having stood in the cold the entire night. Only 20 of those camped out were lucky enough to get units when the store opened. Target down the street had over 100 people camped out...for the 8 units the store ultimately received."
Though Nintendo maintains that more shipments are coming this month, you might be better off finding a certain doll that "eats and poops" than a motion-sensing console. And as Sony has been extremely hush-hush as to what's going on in their supply room, PS3 chances before next year seem hyper bleak. So any faithful readers out there still looking to score a Wii or PS3 before 2007? If so, start roaming the cold, dark streets in the snow asking questions like "Who am I?" and "What does it all mean?" hoping to find one lone console sitting in some retailer's sidewalk window, box shining in all its glory.
