He pointed out there were other colors available. I'd love to get a few other colors. With 2 360s, I may even take a chance in a year or so and color one of the boxes.

I have to send my dumb 360 in to MS for repairs (it locks up, a LOT) but once it gets back I am definitely doing the case. I am thrilled with how well it turned out. I had to try really hard to damage the dye job (to an extent that would have certainly damaged the original and left just as nice a gouge).

I used this dye paint to color my PC back when that was the cool thing to do. It came out extremely well.
The point that can't be stressed enough is to go slow, this stuff really does chemically bond with the plastic and won't come off.

Amen to that, its not forgiving in the least.

And holy god the fumes...I was outside and I still felt nauseous after I was done. A breeze would have been helpful lol. :)

Hmm so the exact same technique can be done to that case? Very cool, I will defintely be trying this out.

The only problem I have with the mods done to the controllers is how the gray of the thumbsticks looks with the black. I wish there was a way to get them black too.

I work in a body shop...so I'd just like to point something out...he says use a dust mask...dont, they are for dust, and paint fumes can go right through them...granted, yes, its better then nothing, but you should use a proper mask, with a charcoal filter.

BTW...that looks cool, I'll have to give it a try. oh, and some of you have talked about doing your case to...while thats a good idea...what are you planning to do about the clear power cicle area? since I ssume you still want to be able to see the green ring with the power logo in the middle.

I would suggest about the power circle on the faceplate to possibly get a premade face plate with whatever color of circle you want then paint the rest of the faceplate. I would try to get a faceplate that had a matte finish though because it would not bond with a shiny finish but you could always sand it down so it could bond.

For the case itself, the only way I can think of getting around the green ring is using contact paper and an xacto knife and cutting out a mask for it.

And yes preferably just do it in a really well ventilated area, I agree that a dust mask is not good enough, its just better than nothing. :(

Also for the joysticks, you CAN do those as well (I actually considered it), you just need some plastic or paper to mask off the PCB and the rest of the internal controller bits. But the DPad is an individual piece so no worries there.

But you can definitely do them too. This stuff seems to have no problem with glossy surfaces.
