Theres a very good reason the cable comes out of the bottom. It hooks into the Wiimote which would usually be on your lap. If it came out the top it would have to loop back round. Wake up people.

At least the Dreamcast has a notch on the bottom of the controller to clip the cable so it comes back to the top. Also the Dreamcast had those digital memory cards that fit down in to it but the Nintendo Controller, no clue why they did it.

I guess everything is perfect in Henry's world, with those Nintendo-colored glasses on. Or is that a ON™ headset?

My personal thought is Nintendo could have made this thing wireless on it's own, without needing to plug it in to anything other than the occasional battery charger... Yes, I know it would be a little more expensive (but it's a specialty item anyway, for which people will pay a little extra) and it would have been greatness.

And if the 'tilt' was crammed in there too? That would have been a great controller, certainly more comfortable than holding the wii-mote sideways for games like ExciteTruck. Now using this, you got cables and mayhem in your lap... Not the best look. Like wearing your phone or Blackberry on your belt.

Most people wear their BlackBerry as a status symbol. The Wii just doesn't go there.

As weird as it looks, it's actually kind of comfortable to have the cable coming out of the bottom of the classic controller.

The controller itself, on the other hand, is terribly uncomfortable.

Do you always jump down people's throats when they post logical comments?

A little more expensive? Try a lot more expensive. Add your requested 'tilt' function and we're talking Sixaxis price range - $59.99.

Nintendo was wise to have it jack into the remote.

I don't like the classic controller at all. I only use the GC controller and my Wii remote for VC games. They're best suited for these tasks, especially since they both have rumble functionality.

I wish they put a port on for an SNES controller... I'd much rather use that than the GC or 'classic' controllers.

Apparently nobody here has played a 3DO console. The controllers were able to daisy-chain to each other through a jack on the bottom of each controller (or top, on some brands of controller).

Also, I swear I had some Atari 2600 controllers that had the cable coming out the bottom.

Keep in mind that the bottom of the Classic Controller has little clips and a release button on top for opening those clips. No one quite knows what those are for yet, but conceivable by moving the cable to come out the top, and Nintendo releases some sort of attachment that doesn't expect that wire to be there, that attachment may not fit properly.

I think Skippy's got it right. As I understand it the clip to hook the Classic controller onto the Wiimote to add tilt is still supposed to be coming eventually and possibly other add-ons. I think that's the main reason the cord is on the bottom. I don't really see why it's a problem. Certainly not worth opening up the conroller, voiding the warranty, and risking screwing something up IMO.

Honestly, anyone who seriously considers it a flaw that the cord comes out the bottom needs their head examined. It's completely inconsequential.

My Dreamcast controller's cord hung out the bottom just fine. It only bugs if you think about it... while being a moron.

Do catch fire.

No dude, only when they say some condescending thing like 'WAKE UP PEOPLE' when someone else thinks something could be different from the way the kool-aid maker made it. Saying Henry is wearing 'Nintendo-colored glasses' is certainly less abrasive than 'Wake up people.'

And your speculated price range on what my dream controller is about what Nintendo charges anyway, for a remote and a nunchuk. I don't like paying that much, but these companies are already charging that much anyway.

And yes, ZeroCorpse, I have my 3DO in storage! Rapid Fire should wind up on XBLA, that would be a good one.

Uh, thank's for proving my point.

I'm aware that the remote and nunchuck cost that much - that's why I said it be stupid for them to include that technology in the CLASSIC controller.
