I haven't. I stopped playing after like 40 hours and have only dipped into Oblivion now and again, so i couldn't justify the price. But, now that it's free, and me being the free-download-whore that i am, i'll definately download it and give it a whirl. Thanks Bethesda and 360Fanboy.

Lame. I did buy that. It's a pretty significantly sized dungeon add-on, at least.

I haven't. The main reason is of course that my disc is damaged beyond repair... It's all my fault though, and it's not hard to see that, so I can forget about exchanging it. I'll probably wait until it becomes a Classic title, or maybe even till they start selling them in "old games no one wants to buy anymore" bins where every game costs like 5 bucks.

I'll definitely download it though, so I can keep it for later use. Freebies rule!

Wow, Bethesda knows how to run class act. They first screwed us for some horse armour, but then realized the error of their ways and put their DLC in a decent price point from there on. I mean the horse armour fiasco was too bad considering there wasn't much of a Marketplace DLC barometer yet on what people were willing to play. Bethesda has come out with DLC for Oblivion regularly and given us genuine content unlike EA willing to nickel and dime at every turn.

Kudos to Bethesda.

I bought it and loved it and don't regret paying for it at all.

This does however raise a thought in the back of my mind; with the GRAW add-on and now Oblivion downloadable content being reduced, what incentive is there for people to pony up (Horse Armor pun intended) the cash when the content comes out? I mean this stuff is not redistributable and you already have a fully featured game. Why not wait 6 months and get a discount?

Just my 2 cents.

I think Bethesda looked at all the content and found which one was downloaded the most and then offer that one up for free so it doesn't effect their bottom line much. All this is teaching me is to stop buying content because if you wait long enough it will be free. I've been done with this game 5 months ago and there isn't much that's going to bring it back for me.

Caffeinate ... with the more multiplayer driven games these DL's are time sensitive ... like your example of GRAW. If you loved GRAW and it's online component you ponied up right away because everyone was playing the new stuff. That's where the hype is. You don't bypass a hyped multiplayer game or map pack because by the time it's free or cheaper everyone is over it. The crowd has moved on. DL's for single player oriented games are a different bag altogether.

Bennyishere, send it to Bethesda Softworks, 1370 Piccard Drive, Suite 120, Rockville, MD 20850

Ideally, you would send your proof of purchase too, but I am almost positive that they don't care as long as the disc is authentic.

They WANT you to play their game.

360 Flammer,

I've got a rather quick question for you; are you mentally handicapped to a severe degree? I ask because it has become quite apparent to anyone who posts on this website that you've got an IQ equal to that of a box of matches. Seriously, you must've eaten lead-based paint chips by the bucketful as a kid, had your skull used as a doorstop by your abusive parents, or CJD is slowly eating holes into that pitiful 7 lb gelatinous mass you call a brain. However, if there is no justifiable or clinical reason for your inability to form a thought more complex than "food goes in mouth", you truly are an idiot that deserves neither pity of sympathy; in fact, I'm sure humanity would be grateful if you were removed from the collective human gene pool before you were given a chance to contribute to it.

I'm sure you're one of these mindless sheep that ponied up $600 for a console that a has dated GPU, no analog scaler, developer un-friendly memory set up, and processor that's crap at the math that makes up some 85%-90% of all CPU intensive tasks (integer based math) just because Sony spoon-fed you the, "The next generation doesn't start until we say it does" bullcrap. Oh well, if making every internet user aware that you're about as bright as a black hole allows you to sleep better at night next to your over-priced paperweight, by all means, keep on posting.

I would, however, suggest that you take second grade English; my three year old niece has demonstrated a better understanding and ability to use the language than you have. Throwing some words together while trying to pass it off as a sentence makes you a f*cking joke.

See ya later, Matchbox.

Oh, and another word of advice. I wouldn't use the word gay if I were simply because the last word in you name (which, I'm assuming you meant to spell the word "flamer" but didn't have the brain cells available to do so) implies all kinds of things about your sexual orientation.

Ah...I love typos. I really do. The last paragraph should read: Oh, and a another word of advice. I wouldn't use the word gay if I were you simply because the last word in your name (which, I'm assuming you meant to spell the word flamer but didn't have the brain cells available to do so) implies all kinds of things about your sexual orientation.

Sorry all...after reading some of Matchbook's posts, I couldn't keep myself from laughing long enough to spell check.

Bklynkid,

Because it's amusing every now and then to openly attack a troll with as much venom as possible. Also, it motivates him to say something that'll most likely get him banned. Case in point, there once was a poster on Joystiq who went by the name of Novacharged. I went after him, he said things that proved to everyone that he had the intellectual capacity of a lobotomized chicken, and was subsequently banned for his behavior. Joystiq's comments section has enjoyed a Novacharged-free atmosphere for a while now largely due to that tactic. If you give a weed too much fertilizer, you will eventually kill it. There is a method to my madness, and although you may not approve of it, it will pay off shortly (that, and I like knocking illiterate Sony-bots down several pegs).

I haven't bought it yet as I was waiting till I'd levelled up a bit more. So I'm really happy and hope to see more of this kind of thing in future. I think in some ways it might discourage people from buying things from marketplace as they'll be "holding out" for it as a later freebie. This in turn might drive prices down!

I HAVEN'T BOUGHT IT! :)

I've only just finished the main quest (it took me from May until November...) and I'm working my way through the side-quests (which are starting to get frustrating and crappy).

Now I get this for free! Geez, I'll still be playing Oblivion well into next year and still not have done anything. This is exactly why this game is the greatest game on Xbox 360... (except for Gears of War)

The only downloadable content for Oblivion that I did not buy was the overpriced and moronic Horse Armor. I bought Mehrune's Razor the day it came out. I thought it was a nice little addition and I would reccomend it to any Oblivion player, especially now that it is free.

Actually, I'm a little pissed that Bethesda is giving it away now. It's a very nice thing that Bethesda is doing; but was I a sucker because I paid for it? How about something for people like me that downloaded a bunch of content, and paid for it all. I never added up how much it cost for all the stuff I downloaded, but I have a feeling that when combined with the price I paid when I bought the game on release day, the total has to around a $100. That's alot of money for a game, even a game as good as Oblivion is.

I finished the main story and all the the guild quests, (I got a 1000 acheivements), and I am about halfway through Knights of the Nine. I have a few minor side quests that I have yet to finish, (The Goblin War, etc..), and all told I have put in over 250+ hours. I got my levels way, way up on most skills, and I found a ton of shit to put in all the houses I own. Oblivion is a great game and I really hope that Bethesda continues to make new quests available for downloading.

I only bought one of the add-ons to Oblivion because I really haven't gone very far in the original game. But free stuff like this just cannot be passed up...well, except for Hold 'Em...no thanks on that one.
