I don't like the fact that you can't get rid of/ customize the bottom button bar. It would be nice to at least darken it so that it won't burn into my screen.

@48, Yep, that's exactly what you have to do. First clicking the field, then the keyboard pops up and you start clicking letters. Although there is a thing along the top that "guesses" what you are trying to write. So its not too bad I guess.

I think it's pretty neat. Clearly made for just light browsing. YouTube worked fine for me when I tried it very early this morning. I also tried watching trailers on Apple.com and they didn't work. I could see using it to check GameFaqs.com instead of heading to my room to use my computer.

Incredibly easy to use and not nearly as tedious typing URLs in. I've already added several favorites. I'm surprised it loads as fast as it does.

I'm pretty impressed with the browser, from the five minutes I spent with it before going to work. Pages load very quickly, some as quickly as on my PC (which also runs Opera). The controls work fine, and the Wii Remote makes a pretty good browsing tool.

Once I finally get my A/V wiring done right so I can switch from TV to Wii easily, I'll probably use this to read RSS feeds while listening to TV shows.

I find it's great for checking emails in the morning before work.

YouTube on the tv is nice. My mom loves "Ask A Ninja" and it is much better showing it on here than upstairs on my computer.

ALSO predictive text works great using the cell phone entry format.

I've only had a little bit of time to play with it this morning (before I had to leave for work, and now I'm in college), but I had no issues with it. I watched a couple of clips on YouTube, and had no problems.

I was a bit worried about the Wii Internet Channel loading pages slowly (and hearing about Opera's Nintendo DS Browser), but that thankfully is not the case with Wii.

I'm gonna mess with it more tonight.

Just to drill in the message further:
Finalized version of the Internet Channel will be released March 2007. It is FREE until the END of June 2007.

@5 and 30 and a load of others

I have experienced the same problem, Youtube worked fine this morning with the first video I watched, but tonight it gives the same error message as all of you lot, even when trying to watch the same video as before. Any ideas how to fix it?

The Wii has 2 usb inputs , what do you think the chance of getting a wireless keyboard to work on it? I'm loving the browser so far but that added funtionality would rock.
Praying to the baby jeebus they wont call it the Wiiboard.

The youtube people have responded, they claim that the "flash/javascript" error is caused by huge amounts of traffic... and that as traffic dies down a little, the errors will disappear.

As it is now, embedded videos work great.

I've had absolutely no luck with Opera. I've downloaded it FIVE times and each time it freezes my Wii stiff. I get as far as the intro screen or sometimes the keyboard and BOOM it freezes stiff. This is really annoying and unfortunate. I have no problem getting online with the Wii. I have Connect24 running fine and I send emails, download VC titles, etc with NO trouble. I'm really disappointed as I looked forward to surfing my fav sites from the comfort of my sofa AND playing Wii Flash games. Major bummer!!!

Can anyone list a few flash gaming sites that are user friendly with the Wii? I am also interested in how much trouble it is to program new buttons to the controller. The Flash community should really come up with a standard for buttons to be more accommodating.

My wii is always SUPER slow on the internet, I know it's not my connection, don't have the same issue on my pc. It took over an hour to download the system update and then several hours for the opera channel. The browser loads everything SLOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW.

Any ideas?

TG16 Fan I have had the same problem. Sometimes mine freezes completely and sometimes it is fine. It seems better today and I am actually posting this from my wii so maybe it is traffic related? I can't think of another reason it would be better today than yesterday.

"Actually jeff the browser is free until june if you want to download it after that it's $5."

So if it's downloaded before June, can it only be kept until June, then to keep it beyond then would cost $5 a month? Or, if you download it before June, do you get to keep it for free permanently? My parents wouldn't really want to pay $5 every month for it...
