Lots of folks are reporting that YouTube videos no longer work on the Wii -- though they did last night, as most of our loving tipsters raved about the novelty of watching videos on their televisions. Some sites were even talking about it; it is, after all, convenient to check out everyone's favorite video hub from the couch. What happened between now and then? Reports on exactly what is happening seem to differ -- some people get an error messages about the need to install a flash plugin, and others just get the page with the video that never loads, even when the page is refreshed. Google Video apparently has some limited functionality, but longer videos are reported to freeze the Wii. We're guessing that part of the problem is on YouTube's end, since the site has had some intermittent downtime today, but that doesn't explain the issues with Google Video, or why things were working and were suddenly broken. We're all down with the fact that Wii Opera is in beta, but we need our videos! We'll update here if we find anything else out.
[Thanks, David!]
