Graphics card maker NVIDIA and pants tent maker Adrienne Curry (of America's Next Top Model fame) have teamed to create "the world's first real-time, virtual celebrity," according to an NVIDIA press release. Though the "world's first" claim is dubious (companies have been working on this sort of thing since before the days of Max Headroom), we like that Ms. Curry took a dig at Lara Croft via the release:
"The Digital Adrianne is so realistic, it's really trippy. Lara Croft, eat my shorts!"
Actually, that's a great idea, Adrienne. Make it happen, NVIDIA. Literally -- by this time next year, virtual Lara needs to wrestle off and eat virtual Adrienne's shorts. As a tech demonstration to prove Adrienne's polygonal superiority and stuff.

Screw her though, $10 million to animate and render hair? Too high maintenance.

all of this is a complete waste of money and reflects poorly on the company...they should be selling good products, not female object advertisements. it doesn't change the fact that the 8800 is $600 and out of the price reach of most people.

The best part would be that it could be anybody, and no laws are broken because it's "parody" and protected under our Constitution.
