Call Emo whatever you wish, to my ears it is pure garbage. The lyrics are no more deep than any 80's hair band came up with. Its Poison with sloppy hair.

Try turning that around on yourself if you can put down the eyeliner and razorblades long enough to think outside of your pretentious little " I understand everything so much better than everybody else" shell, Emo Lad.

That's the most retarded thing I've read on joystiq in weeks. Congratulations, that's one hell of an accomplishment.

Rob Zombie is a Zodiac Mindwarp rehash. They all wish they were T.Rex. Listen to Sleep, High on Fire and Led Zepplin and leave the ProTools out of Metal. Plus my friends are freaking out over Yob and The Sword, so I guess I should make the time to listen to the mp3s they gave me. Personally right now I'm more into "dip-SET!," The Knife, Lil' Wayne, Paul Wall, DJ Shadow's "Outsider" (I like that hyphy stuff), oldies, Tribe Called Quest, Lupe Fiasco and Love and Rockets. Echo and the Bunnymen fan too. And New Order.

Anyway, didn't realize I was going to Pitchfork by way of Joystiq, but it's good to see some nice dialog NOT talking about how the PS3 is dead. Which I don't think it is.

I don't remember which number the comment was...

But, whoever that guy is talking about " Good charlotte is INDIE-FOLK and blah blah blah is Pop - Pop/rock and so and so is DC HArdcore and this other band is rock/lebenese/potugeze/ southwest Ghetto cheese dick rock from the early 70's era when Dickrock was was originally formed by the Emo bastard kids that weren't actually emo they were rockabilly/garage punk...

...
...
...
GET IT RIGHT! "

I fucking hate this kid. I am so sick of labeling music. If it has high pitched whiney vocals, it's emo. get over it. You aren't cooler than anyone else because you called something, "DC Hardcore" nobody fucking cares what the hell DC HArdcore. You are a reject.

Snoop Doggy Dogg is much better then emo or metal, so calm down ppl, theres nothing to compare from these two genres, they are as bad as Gears of war, now take ur greens and go buy a Wii and Zelda instead, then you won't have to worry about which of these genres are better. Because the sound of Snoop or Zelda music will make you happier. :)

See, I'm happy, I also have a girlfriend, unlike some people....

Ill Trooper...

You are an idiot. Just because a fucking song isn't recorded using a "Reel to Reel" doesn't mean it isn't respectable. I'm sorry, but I hate people like you!

"Oh, this music sucks! It would sound better if it was recorded using a 1978 Sony Ribbon mic with a 1947 Compressor and a reel to reel then ran through a VCR to give it some really bitchin Tape saturation"

You are a tool.

I think its funny that the music used for a video gets a longer comment sprawl going than the video itself. :)

Oh, throw me down for some Dragonforce love too. Fury of the Storm is an awsome song.

In regards to the guy on the toilet, I wonder if this is some little inside joke between the GoW guys. Like 'hey, remember that day Steve the supply guy took a huge dump and we thought he died in there, well hey look what I did' followed by 'ha ha steve, you're in the game'.

I cant really see the game higherups saying 'We NEED a dead guy on a toilet, make sure to include that'.

Actually, that sounds like a pretty good set-up you mentioned... I think Steve Albini might have liked using that same set-up on some Big Black recordings...

You probably didn't really read what I wrote (as you mistakenly saw the words 'Reel to Reel' somewhere in there), or even recognize half of the bands I mentioned. That's OK. It sounds like you have your own issues that you needed to express, as what you're talking about is different from what I'm talking about.

When I talk about 'protools-ing' a track, I'm talking about gimmicky plug-ins and filtering, used by groups like Korn, Garbage, or Evanesence, or whatever - but it's pop dance music parading around as metal. That's OK too, but it's not something I like.

In my own life, I use ProTools. I like it. But I do hip-hop production. I can't get into metal bands using ProTools to add filtered nonsense and make metal sound like dance music. A lot of it has to do with looping breaks and filtering voices, then playing guitars over it. Sorta weak.

Don't worry kid, I use the latest production techniques as well... But you can eat a dick if you think NIN/Korn-style is an audio improvement on classic metal recordings like Black Sabbath or Led Zepplin.

Thank you Myrpok...

Ill Trooper - First of all, I didn't mistake anything. I can tell by your comment that you think you are "1337" in the music industry because you like Echo and the bunny men and prefer retro recording techniques.

You come off as a snooty music whore by the way you named off a list of bands as if that makes you cool because you listen to a bunch of shitty bands.

Come on, you have to admit you are a tool. I mean, you compared Rob Zombie to TREX for goodness sakes.

Go bang a gong you hippy.

Myrpok, have you heard "The greater wrong of right?" from Skinny Puppy? EXCELLENT ALBUM! Though it sounds completely different than their older crap.

But, We have to face the facts man, They use protools, so skinny puppy, and all the other Wonderful industrial bands that mis Electronica with guitars sucks balls and has no musical talent because Ill trooper says so.

"I'm so sick of labeling music"

YOU CLASSIFY YOUR OWN MUSIC ON YOUR MYSPACE PAGE AS "INDUSTRIAL/ELECTRONIC/GOTHIC"

YOU ARE A PRETENTIOUS DICKHEAD. Mentioning bands you've never heard of does not make me or ill trooper "snooty music whores." If you can't respect music styles other than your dated industrial faux-goth shit, then maybe you should consider a career change.

NEVER did I say anything like that. I LIKE industrial. Early covers for Skinny Puppy by Steven R. Gilmore are part of the reason I got into design, which is my primary field of work, and the audio production techniques of 'industrial' artists like Caberet Voltaire and Skinny Puppy had a lot to do with me buying my first sampler. I used to DJ industrial music. I specifically told you I PERSONALLY USE PROTOOLS, although I prefer Ableton LIVE.

Dude, why are you at war with me on this?

Jesse Edgar, your posts and your terrible website/myspace page are putting YOURSELF in the 'musical snot whore' catagory. T.Rex for hippies? Listen again. I think you are a bit sensitive about something, because all I really complained about is lame dance-music production in METAL, not industrial. I specifically cited "Korn, Garbage, and Evanesence" as examples of dance music in metal clothing.

So you bought/pirated Reason and now you're "INDUSTRIAL/ELECTRONIC/GOTHIC," cool, do your thing... But don't act like a revolting cock at my expense. And saying bands I listen to are "Shitty?" So, you call youself 'industrial' but you include Steve Albini and his band Big Black in the "shitty" catagory? You're embarrassing yourself. Go Google-up a little.

I am certainly NOT a snotty music whore. Sorry to bomb you with this list (not really) but I've been lucky enough to go to amazing live shows by Ministry (both 'Halloween' era and 'Thieves/One More Fix' era), KMFDM, Young Gods, RevCo, Psychic TV, NiN, Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins, Eric B and Rakim, New Order, LL Cool J, Radiohead, Schooly D, Slayer, NWA, UTFO, U2, Too Short, Atari Teenage Riot, Laibach, Dead Kennedys, Richie Hawtin, Nitzer Ebb, Agent Orange, KISS, The Specials, Decendants, Front 242, The Orb, Orbital, Devo, Circle Jerks, Run DMC, and this list goes deeper and shall continue to grow precisely because I am NOT a 'snotty music whore.' I'm into all kinds of music...

Get your head right, Jesse Edgar. Stop putting words in my posts.

CSquared... -

Uh, I am required to choose three catagories when making a myspace page... Those are the ones I picked? They are definently not as cool sounding as "DC HARDCORE"

Ill Trooper - Uh, I do believe you said "Don't worry kid, I use the latest production techniques as well... But you can eat a dick if you think NIN/Korn-style is an audio improvement on classic metal recordings like Black Sabbath or Led Zepplin."

Nine Inch nails compared to KORN? Are you fucking kidding me? And how many times am I going to have to say that MYSPACE REQUIRES 3 GENRES OF MUSIC TO BE CHOSEN!!!! Sorry, next time I'll put house/trance/DC Hardcore. Will that make you feel better?

How exactly is my Myspace/website making me look like a snooty music whore? Youa re the one bragging about how you have seen "Blah blah blah" live and "so and so live during the HALLOWEEN ERA!!!!!"

Who gives a damn what bands you have seen live? And Steve Albini sucks balls. What the hell do you keep babbling about him for? Do you think he created industrial music or something? jackass...

This is all coming from the tool that says Rob Zombie is trying to be TREX/Led Zepplin/high on fire...?

Dood, You are gay. Get over it. Any man that listens to Echo and the Bunnymen is hetero-sexually challenged.

Get over yourself. You are not cool. Retro music techniques are not cool. The fact that you make "HIP HOP" with protools is not cool.

How in the fuck do you make hip hop with pro-tools anyway? I know your jack-ass doesn't record each and every instrument live. That's Anti-Hip hop.

CliffyB, I, and some others in #unrealed back when Unreal 1 had come out had an interesting discussion about what can and cannot be put into CliffyB's butt by a woman, so I can see the whole Steve the Toilet Guy situation happening around that guy.

I stand by Emo-Lad up there being a pretentious git.
