I hope that you'll be able to substitute names in for the numbers. It might be somewhat difficult for everyone to remember their number and pass it to that person quickly enough.

Hmm, I don't see what's so confusing about the number system. Really, I mean, how hard is it to remember a 1/2 digit number? Heck, I can still remember many of my addresses, phone numbers, and locker combos, and I have terrible memory.

What the fuck is that? Flying angels with numbers on top, N64 quality graphics which sometimes degrades to NES graphics depending on the minigame, and annoying repititive music. The only place where this "game" has any chance of succeeding is in Japan.

Have any of you hating on this version of WarioWare actually played the past versions of WarioWare? It's not about the graphics. In fact, the worse they are, the better, IMO. It's about getting a huge amount of games thrown at you with little or no chance to think, just react. I played the Gamecube version with several other people on a regular basis, and it was a brilliant experience. The games kept getting faster and faster, and we were all laughing like madmen trying to keep up.

Drunk idiocy FTW.

Oh... Leto, Leto, Leto. Can't you see that graphical STYLE is just as important (and in many cases, more important) than graphical quality? Ultra-realistic graphics would be great, but not if they don't work with the FEEL of the game itself.

Awesome.

The only question I have is were those angels all Miis? They looked like they could have been, and that's pretty sweet.

Leto, the entire point of Wario Ware is that it is as stupid as possible. That's one of the reasons it's so great.

Well, most of your post was about the graphical quality. I don't exactly disagree with you about the music, though. The angels aren't that bad.

That has to be the most annoying game in the history of mankind ... you spend more time waiting for each minigame to load than you do to play it. (1 or 2 seconds to play, 5-7 second transition)

I do recall every other WarioWare game (And I own three of them) had repetitive music whenever switching to the scenes between each minigame. It makes it unique, and fun at the same time. All of these people have never played WW before, and if they did they would understand the pure beauty of it all. N64 graphics? I'm sorry, was that some WIND WAKER and maybe some SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE I saw in there? No. It was my imagination, that was clearly Abe Lincolns portrait being "Pin the Nose on the Dead President through a cave", not Gamecube games.

On a less-flamey note, the numbers apparently are just the names of all the characters. Considering this is an English publication on a Japanese game, it's likely the Japanese version didn't have the Roman Alphabet (A-Z, a-z) built-in, so they went with recognizable symbols to the western world: the numbers.

I have played Wario Ware on the DS and GBA. I have to say the game looks very creative (which I always like). Only complaint would be the player switching as it looks a bit too repetitive.

CJC, at least we agree about the music.

They're not angels. They're Icarus and people like him. Note the lack of halos.

In any case, I've never met someone that didn't crack up playing Wario Ware. Everyone thinks it will suck until they try it.

The gamecube one ROCKED.

Used to play it all the time. Hadnt in a while, but on Christmas my bros and I all played for a few hours. Laughing, crying, the game is really fun. Incredibly FUN. I have high hopes for this one. I really hope it stays the same as the cube one did. The Turtle stacking game, the Do what the doctor says game, being able to "level" your stats. All of it was great stuff.

As long as the Wii version has all makings that the cube one had, it'll be AWESOME! (oh and 4 player simultaneous games as seen in the turtle stacker ROCK. Please be in the Wii version!)

One final note: The graphics are PERFECT for WarioWare. You have to appreciate the series. Its been great since the first one on gba. Well actually, the DS WarioWare:Touched was a little rushed. Twisted however was AWESOME.

WarioWare is about quick random minigames.
If you spend a night with a friend or two playing it you'd understand.

Some of you guys are real morons (Mac User, Leto, etc)...
sorry to get all ad-hominum but you guys are missing point entirely...

OTOH,
Q : You nailed it.

One thing I'd like to ask you graphics whores is if you think movies are better now than they were.

For me, the things that show their age most are (most) use of 3D in games and CG in movies. Relying on these things will attract "your kind"...but that glory is fleeting as you will always move on to the next shiny thing. So predictable....

That feature on Castlevania a few days ago completely got it.

Agreed, the graphics are not the point. Shiny things do not make games great. Would you judge an author on their penmanship? Point being, it's the content, not the appearance. The unfortunately named CHUDGOO (#26) got it right, though i've never seen "ad hominem" hyphenated.

The music however is annoying.
Nice comment about Icarus too. (#24) What makes you say that they're Icarus rather than angels? The lack of halo isn't terribly convincing.

I wasnt that sure about buying a wario ware game for a non handheld- i dont mind wasting money on minigames on a console whose job is to be picked up and played for 5 minutes at the spur of the moment :p - but i laughed my ass off at that trailer, it looks like great fun and really cool use of the wiimote. The whole 'two people one controller' thing is great.

Im going to have to run out and see if i can find a copy of the GC version now, the wario ware bug has bit me again :(

Sega, i hope youre watching, i want a project rub wii, stat.

If I was to get a Wii, this would be the reason why. My friends and I, as stupid as we already act and crack up at the dumbest thing (and being all smart people makes it even more hilarious) this would be THE reason to get together. Too bad we are all going to college next year :(. Guess I can still play with my 2 friends that are going locally.
But wait! Drunken Wii parties! wooooot!

Oh, Jesus. I was sitting here earlier, worried that there wouldn't be enough time to pass the controller in 12-player multiplayer. I come to Joystiq and what do I see? "OMG The time between games is waaay too long." If they made it any shorter, it would be impossible to play with more than one person!

I'm totally with AssemblyLineHuman, you need time to get the remote from one person to the other. And for those who worry about waiting too long for your turn: don't you realize that watching your friends make fools of themselves is half the fun?

OK I'm gonna introduce you to a concept: if you click the link on my name, you'll see a video of me and several other people. Those "other people" are wonderful people called "friends".

After you've watched the video, you might stop and realize that maybe you have some friends of your own, you've just been too busy drooling over the girls in DOAX2 to realize it (not that I blame you, those girls are smokin' hot). So invite these friends over to your place, and have something we like to call "fun". Now if you don't have a Wii, then don't panic, you can still have fun with a decent stereo, a bottle of rum and a deck of cards, and depending on who's coming over you might want to roll up a couple of "big fatties" to pass around.

If you _do_ have a Wii, then I'd recommend against letting your guests have too much rum before playing this game. Judging by the video, that looks like a recipe for disaster ^_^

Wow...Unbelievable...I guess when you have a cool new controller you can release any crap you want, and fanboys will buy into it...

Why not just release the controller for n64 if you want to make poop like this... Oh wait...graphics do not matter anymore (best Nintendo scam I ever heard of )

/sigh/

I'm sick of this. Ok, here it is, in black and white. Would you play a game about rolling a pear down the stairs, if the pear looked so real that you could swear that you could eat it?

Conversely, would you play the best danged platformer ever, if the walls, floors, characters, enemies, everything was brown?

No? Good. You see, there is middle ground between graphics and gameplay. A great game can look like crap, and a crap game can look like gold. The real magic is when a great game looks good.

So, I'm sick of graphics whores and gameplay whores always arguing over this crap. You need both to make a good game, not just one or the other.

Oh, and the angels are Miis, and the name of the Mii will be the name of the angel. It's that simple, no memorization needed.

Now, if you excuse me, I must continue waiting for this undoubtedly awesome game to come out.

I guess some people will buy it and have a blast, some won't and they'll miss a fine oppurtunity to have fun.

This game is great, but they could have added some more versus modes (I mean when you play at the same time), the 2 on 2 games are a bit too basic and repetitive.

Also its stupid that you have to clear the game in singleplayer before you can play more than one.
