I can assure you, this game looks nothing like Shining Force III. Maybe you should go back and take it for another spin if you're still confused.

You will learn the true meaning of low poly, jaggie filled pain combined with hideous aliased scaling sprites.

I mean, seriously, I love SFIII, but I'm realistic about the fact that it, like a great many Saturn games, looked awful, particularly once the Dreamcast came out and showed how 3d was properly done.

Well yeah, the game looks like crap to me (gameplay might be good, can't tell). But more importantly, isn't this exactly what the 360 needs to keep the ball rolling in Japan?

J. Goodwin,

You're right. In reality, I just secretly hope that someone at SEGA will read this and start making a *real* sequel to Shining Force :)

This game doesn't fit on the 360, yet Time Pilot, Scramble, and Rally X do?

I don't get it?

It looks like a Live Arcade Title. Even at some point in the text there seems to be a reference to it. That could explain the low quality graphics, etc.

Step frame through at around 1:48 (or 1:58, I forgot already).

The camera kind of swings around at that point. I think that all those "spritetastic" characters are 3d...

Which is impressive, because the art is reminiscent of El Dorado Gate in terms of the kind of manga/anime flourishes on the characters. I'm sure that Yoshitaka Amano has nothing to do with this project though. I need to go back and play El Dorado Gate again, I think.

Looks like it's a 'tactics' game along the same lines of what Nippon Ichi was pumping out for the PS2 (Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and so on). Very similar style, too.

Hard to tell if the battle system is going to be any good, from the EXTREMELY limited amount of in-game footage.

But hey, if it's a decent enough 'tactics' game with online play and a good amount of depth, it'll be worth playing regardless of what it looks like.

And it's better than the opposite extreme, at least (see: Oneechanbara vorteX).

The in-game character designs look a lot like Shining Force. You know, with the weakest chins of all time. Jawless freaks!

Fire Emblem on Wii looks 100x better than this. Sheeit, Fire Emblem on Gamecube looked 100x better. I'd love a tactical battlefield RPG for 360, but this is an insult. I am insulted! How dare you?!

I'd be all over this if I thought there was a chance in hell of it coming over. Saying this has no place on the 360 is very narrow-sighted. Bomberman: Act Zero has no place on the 360, because it is a piece of shit. Any good game should be on any system. Not every game has to push the limits of a system to be worthwhile. The best game on the Gamecube, BY FAR, was animal crossing, and that was basically a N64 game. I personally am a HUGE fan of turn-based games, and look to Japan to keep it alive, and the rest of the world seems to have abandoned it. I couldn't give a shit less for any RTS game, but will be estastic for any Turn based strategy game, as long as it is decent. Now if they'll just translate the damn things. There's already Far East of Eden: Ziria sitting over there with little chance of being ported. And dammit, if they don't bring over Culdcept Saga, I just might have to learn Japanese.

Haha, I like the looks of this game *ducks* no but seriously I do... I'm a sucker for any S-RPG's and I love sprites. I know it isn't next-gen or anything, but i'd buy it if... it were budget price ($40) or 1st party price ($50). The only thing I wished they did was have individual squares (like Disgaea) to move about, I'm not into the whole free roam(ish) thing hehe.

Great...ugly stuff. Send it to the Wii.

Microsoft should sneak up on Namco and steal Xenosaga and help them make the full 6 episodes. It didn't succeed on the PS very well, but I'm sure 360 owners would get all over it.

Shining Force...I think I missed that one back in the day. Guess I'm not a true Sega dork? A real Phantasy Star would be nice (rather than this MMO crap).

It's a retail title. Think it'll come across the pond?

I love tactics games. Graphics be damned, this is exactly the type of game I was hoping the 360 would pick up. A nice JTactics game to compliment Worms and the board games coming to XBLA- I'll be there on day one to pick this up if it comes to America.

I liked the graphix
It´s remind me the disgaea but with hi res xD
"Granted, it might be fun, but why 360? Wouldn't it be more comfortable on DS or even Wii?"
NO WAY, we need more srpg in 360, even the craps one!

What we have to remember is that so far this is a Japan only title and appeals to Japanese gamers. It may never get exported outside that market. 360 needs all the help it can get in Japan, and a game like this may do well there. I am assuming from the cut scenes that it will be based on a popular anime/manga series. Now, it does look very 32-bit era graphically, but cleaner due to the higher res output of the 360, and I surely wouldn't pay $59.99 for it, but this may make a nice budget title here for $29.99 USD or a game for the kids who like to play games like Final Fantasy Tactics with cutesy, big headed anime characters. If there is any genre that 360 is sorely lacking in, it's games that appeal to children.

turn based combat sucks...let the Japanese keep it. Anyone who likes this crap should do us all a favor and go play boardgames instead, what a waste of processing power.
