I dunno what you're talking about. I love Wind Waker link far more than I've loved any other Link they've made.

You're in the minority there, it seems. But even most people who liked Wind Waker didn't much care for the sailing, and it'll be back in PH.

"Between this game, Dragon Quest IX, and the dual Final Fantasy titles headed our way, 2007 is shaping up to be the year of the DS RPG"

Couldn't have said it better myself!
Bring on the DS RPG loving! We might just be on the cusp of a renaissance of the SNES RPG days...

This reminds me..Is DS fanboy going to get a "Best of 2006" poll? Would an entire listing of such awesomeness break the page?

The biggest problem of Wind Waker has been corrected in Phantom Hourglass. No more relying on the wind!!!

Link will have little a steam boat, so no need to stop every 15 second to chance the direction of the wind.

I really couldn't be more excited about this year of releases. I thought 06 was good, but just thinking of the new Phoenix Wright (I need to put it on order pronto!), Dragon Quest, and Phantom Hourglass along with tons of other interesting looking titles like Hotel Dusk, things are going to be great. I think Diddy Kong racing should also be on the list; I can't wait for it either.

With all due respect,
Fox

We do have a "best of 2006" list -- it's called the whole site. You don't want us to reprint it all, do you?

Couldn't resist! :) But it WAS one hell of a year.

The boat in PH looks to be steam powered, just to make clear.

Wheres Custom Robo Arena? That game features online matches which is sure to be a heck of fun. Wheres Diddy Kong Racing DS? That features WiFi play as well with an added track maker. What about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals Ring of Fates? Thats going to be a big '07 title. You named a lot, but not enough.

Personally, I'm hoping that Project Exile can find a publisher and find it's way to the DS this next year. It looks like a very fun little RPG.

I'm in awe at how this little machine that I was so skeptical of has become this powerhouse of amazing gameplay and fun.

I have always been a Nintendo fanboy, but when the DS was first released I just kept thinking: "What is Nintendo *doing?!*"

Boy was I wrong. I now own almost 50 games for my DS and I've gotten 3 people to buy them.

2007 is going to ruin my bank account.

Agreed, Kefka. It'd be nice to see more ports and/or sequels to some of the RPG greats from the SNES era, though... Romancing SaGa 2 + 3 were groundbreaking (FF6 standard visuals, plot and character depth/development, 6 optional story lines, one storyline being a strategy game - RS3 rocked out, and playing as a LINEAGE rather than an individual made RS2 kick serious arse, while breaking serious ground), Treasure of the Rudras was huge, well balanced and genuinely awesome (writing words to make magic, 3 simultaneous story lines culminating in one final story... seriously awesome), Bahumut Lagoon an obvious must, Chrono Trigger equally so...
But yes, the DS looks to rival the SNES' RPG golden era!
