where is the incentive to go to a public hall to play games that you could play more enjoyably at home? I'm not picturing MS Sony or Nintendo showing off their next big thing at a public event...?

@1 - I see what you mean, but you don't think it would be wise to show at least a video (or premiere a playable demo of a big name franchise) at an event like this? Plus, consider how insane late 2007 is going to be with releases. There's no way I can afford to play all of them on all 3 systems. Set me up with a day where I can cruise and get an idea of what I'm going to want to buy over the next month or two, and I have no complaints. Thumbs up from me.
