Friends who make things for people are pretty nifty. That is, if the things aren't completely useless and made out of pottery. No, we mean things that you see and instantly want, or make you say, "Holy cow! That's cool!" Anyone ever made you anything like that? Better yet, have you ever sat down and created something yourself that was a work of genius and meant for someone else? We've got three such items here. All of them are fairly impressive, handmade, and we want 'em. Check them out after the jump and let us know what sort of swag you've either received, or made for someone else.

Gears of War: homemade Munny figure
Munny figures are a sort of do-it-yourself figure kit you can get at Kidrobot and they allow you to customize to your heart's content. Emilio decided to make one for his cousin, a Gears of War fan, and check out the final results. Other than not having his signature gun with chainsaw bayonet, this figure looks pretty keen. Although, the round circles on his armor are a bit too bra-like for comform, the amount of detail on the face and suit is impressive. Plus, check out his custom box. We'd buy a set of these for sure. Where's Dom?

Animal Crossing: DS Lite carrying case
Okay, it does not get much cooler than this. gLitterbug has created an amazing DS Lite carrying case out of a wooden box, complete with foam padding and a custom painted outer cover for a friend. After all the neoprened, carabinered, goretexed cases, this one really stands out of unique and artistic as well. Just check out that painting, willya?

StepMania: custom dancepad
gLitterbug wasn't content to just make a DS Lite case with custom artwork, oh no. Next up is a World of Warcraft inspired dancepad for another friend, complete LED lights and artwork. This one falls into the "bizarre, yet still cool" category, and our next goal is to befriend gLitterbug in real life so that we can also receive custom made gaming gifts. Seriously, if you have another one of those DS cases lying around, let us know. Hint hint.
Anyone else out there have any cool and unique gamer gifts?
[Thanks, Chris and gLitterbug]
