XBLVM a big success, Lionsgate on board

A recent press release confirms that the Xbox Live Video Marketplace has been a huge success. In only two months, Video Marketplace has become one of the top distributors of high definition downloadable media. According to Comedy Central senior vice president, Caleb Weinstein, Video Marketplace has become the second highest performing digital outlet for the network. Warner Bros. vice president for video on demand, Andrew Mellett notes that the service has "exceeded" expectations and has become one of Warner Bros' "top distributors." Again, this is a substantial achievement for a service that just debuted in November.

In related news, Lionsgate has signed on to bring several of its movies to Video Marketplace in 2007. Some of the notable movies on the list include Crank, Blair Witch Project, SAW III, Ninth Gate, and the best date movie of the year 2000, Requiem for a Dream*.

*This is a joke. Requiem for a Dream is not a good date movie at all. It's weird and it gives us nightmares.

Requiem is a beautifully written, acted, and directed movie. And it will make you slit your wrists.

But you can't beat the Jennifer Connelly double-sided dildo scene.

While maybe not the most appropriate date movie, the ending for "Requiem..." could leave a few ideas in your girlfriends head...

It's a shame that there isn't more HD content up and more current movies. I can't help but feel like I'm browsing through Comcast's Free On-Demand service where they put stuff that has just enough entertainment value to qualify the cost $0. Except with Marketplace I pay for it. Superman HD is a great start, we need to see more of this!! The service is just getting started so I'm sure it will get much better.

Requiem was creepy. Good movie but creepy.

never heard of this movie before and the poster looks dull, but when i saw the words:

my eyes popped, that's all they needed to say, am sold damn it!!!

After I saw Requiem for a Dream for the first time, I went mad and cleaned my house for 40 hours straight! crunch crunch crunch sniff mmmm crunch *flickering lights* mmmmm.... great film!

Requiem is, in fact, the best first date movie I have ever encountered. If she can get through that movie and not slap you in the face, she's a keeper.

Was that heroin or cocaine they were always shooting up? i never could figure it out.
