IBM pimps gaming at its first CES appearance in 10 years
For the first time in 10 years, IBM has a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. The reason? PS3, Wii, and 360; specifically for the fact that IBM helped design the processors found in each.Big Blue will feature demos for PS3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 in addition to providing insight and analysis into the "science behind gaming today" at their booth. I guess the latter means they'll have some sort of lab experiment or boring processor presentation. Or maybe it means the company will come right out and say it: "We already won the console war."

This was the only thing holding me back from getting a Wii. I got one anyway but I am waiting for this processor to burn out. IBM used to mean great hardware but the quality has been crashing over the past 5 years.
The last IBM I had, broke more than any other computer, and I've had some real no frills pieces of shoe in the past.

I thought the CELL processor was jointly deved by Sony and Toshiba (or is that true, and IBM still helped put it together)
I know Broadway and Xenon are IBM products, though
