Joyswag Photochop: Lost Planet, found entries - Day Three

Our first winning entry comes to us straight out of the annals of history, bringing you an extremely retro gaming dosage of John Milton. This has to be the most highbrow entry we've received yet, and that's including the large number of Lost Pants entries we're getting (some of which have been great). Nice work Shaun, you've both impressed and shamed us at the same time, since we read the Cliff's Notes version of this in high school.
Check out the second winner after the jump, and refresh your memory on all the contest details. Keep 'em coming, because we're loving everything you've been sending.

Here's the deets again on the contest: Photochop the box art for Capcom's Lost Planet (a huge high-rez version can be found here) and then send your submissions in .jpg format to joyswag [dot] submissions [at] gmail [dot] com. If your submission wasn't chosen, submit another for future consideration. Enter as often as you like, but only one prize per person. Fire up your 'puters and get to work, we've still got two days of contest left, and four copies of Lost Planet to give away, so stop reading this and get to work.

I won! This is so awesome. I played the crap out of the demo. Now I can use the money I'll save from buying this game to pay for a new Xbox Live headset since my puppy chewed on my old one.
HappyWarmGuns @ Jan 9th 2007 11:33PM
wow pathetic,I feel Disgusted by loosing to these too pieces of ****.
Turo @ Jan 9th 2007 11:38PM
i wish i had any imagination for an idea to even begin with...-(
Brandon @ Jan 9th 2007 11:51PM
Hey, HappyWarmGuns, maybe you didn't "loose" and they're simply saving your magnificent entry for the final day, so it gets more attention!
Who am I kidding, you're just being an ass! Way to make them want to pick yours!
iLLWiLL @ Jan 9th 2007 11:54PM
Why do I feel like I was robbed very recently?. Screw this! I'm not wasting any more of my time in this contest to be beat by the likes of the stuff above. I'll just rendezvous with Lost Planet at the bargain bin or buy it used after somebody flips this title and gets sick of it. Thumbs down judges,err...beechez!
Turo @ Jan 10th 2007 12:09AM
although supperimpressed reply was a bit harsh in my opinion, i have to agree with him. here i am sitting without being able to come up with a clever "lost (blank)" and then someone goes and wins by not following the rules. not fair to me or anyone else who has worked hard with their entries... =(
noire @ Jan 10th 2007 8:44AM
You guys are a bunch of sore losers. After you're finished with your waah burger and french cries, you should think about trying again.
Congratulations to the winners.
max @ Jan 10th 2007 3:06AM
don't blame the rules for your lack of creativity.

my lack of creativity :[
Turo @ Jan 10th 2007 4:23AM
@7
maybe if the rules were presented as being able to go outside what was presented then maybe i would have more room for that creativity. maybe some of us feel limited to possibilities becuase the guidelines clearly stated 'a game box for something else "lost"'.did u ever think of that, idiot?
Amos @ Jan 10th 2007 3:22AM
YES! That Paradise Lost one is FANTASTIC! A lot better than the simple 'Lost' garbage that got the first award. That one was so apparent and un-impressive it wasn't even funny...this was a terrific execution and idea, however, haha. Congrats, you deserve it.
crunchb3rry @ Jan 10th 2007 4:09AM
I just wish we didn't have to keep making more entries. Previous entries should have the chance to be picked again. And I hope Joystiq is going to post a ton of the entries after the contest is over, a la other sites' Photoshop contests.
serge @ Jan 10th 2007 3:30AM
i guess only original ideas work here :)
ps skills has nothing to do with winning.
i have an idea already for another piece. i dunno if i'll have time for that, since i have to design 18 pages due tomorrow for my university book.
Juan @ Jan 10th 2007 6:01AM
This is my submission lol

If anyone wants a good idea, here's one that I came up with but I don't feel like making it.

The judges obviously have no sense of humor:

Also, the amount of time I wasted on that, actually cost me more than the MSRP. Whatever, I wanted to get the collectors edition anyway.
HappyWarmGuns @ Jan 10th 2007 10:19AM
Hey Noire, If you knew anything about Photshoping then you would understand the simplicity and, IMHO, amatuer attempts above. When did "highbrow" mild humor replace Truly Good Graphics??? I fail to see what the judges saw in these but whatever...
MY LACK OF CREATIVITY....

Wait... do we have to keep resubmitting every day?
v0yce @ Jan 10th 2007 10:47AM
Ah, and here I thought I was incredibly creative for sending in a Paradise Lost one a few days ago.

Shaun's is quite a bit better I see.
Congrats winners!
Xeronis @ Jan 10th 2007 11:47AM
Must say, of the ones I have seen so far, Cybereality's is my favorite, followed by the Paradise lost entry. Very nice!
amethystperspective@yahoo.com @ Jan 10th 2007 12:18PM
v0yce, if you were to change the background I can see that one winning. It's kind of funny.
So, these are the typical people I'd find on LIVE? A bunch of sore losers crying foul when fragged? Weak. Powerful weak.

I just submitted this...
Tyson @ Jan 10th 2007 2:52PM
I am honored to have won. Thank you Joystiq. This was my third entry, so everyone else keep trying. Everything I've seen looks awesome.
doubtful @ Jan 10th 2007 4:21PM
Haha, Cybereality. I like it.
MidnightPlatinum @ Jan 10th 2007 4:59PM
The "Lots of Plantains" one from cyberreality is funny as hell. You have no sense of humor joystiq... that guitar hero entry is crap. That "Lost Gulag" one by Juan is pretty funny too. I love that Borat-style of talking that makes no sense... reminds me of Engrish.com
Most of those entries listed in the comments are shamelessly lacking in any sort of creativity. I need to learn Photoshop...
Zegim @ Jan 11th 2007 12:26AM
The first entry is genius. The second one... not really.
Those posting "my creative entry" keep them coming, some may lack creativity (Photoshop skills and dexerty is not the same as creative thinking), and humor, but they are very well done.
Mike C @ Jan 10th 2007 6:22PM
Congrats to the winners... Nice work everyone.

"I love that Borat-style of talking that makes no sense... reminds me of Engrish.com"
Actually, the syntax for the entry was made famous by Russian comedian, Yakov Smirnoff. Ex. In Soviet Russia, game plays you!
