What a grand teaser trailer.

Wasn't this already announced or hinted at or something back in ... 2005, I believe?
Oh, and good job, Nexon, with the copious amounts of in-game footage.
a robot @ Jan 9th 2007 8:52PM
Did they figure out how to make a website that my browser can see yet?
Crackjaw @ Jan 9th 2007 8:52PM
I wonder what their demographic is.
Einhanderkiller @ Jan 9th 2007 8:59PM
No doubt somebody is going to try and hack this game. :P
The PC version is full of cheaters.

This game is awesome. I dont know why joystiq said it has an emphasis on shopping. The game is simple but so deep. I've been playing 2.5 years and still cant/wont stop. I love the snot out of this game and will get it on the DS the moment its released in the US.

A stunning 1.5 seconds of gameplay footage.
Please Eat My Pies @ Jan 9th 2007 9:37PM
Awesome. I'm glad I read this cause I was about to put my DS on ebay.

Wow, nintendo couldn't have asked for a better game for the south korean market. Well maybe crazy kart racer.
Arbuz Chokaro @ Jan 9th 2007 9:55PM
Wow, if I didn't even know better, I would have guessed they were selling korean girls!
N3k74r @ Jan 9th 2007 10:09PM
Yeah, Maple Story is fun.
For 5 minutes. Hopefully by then you realize that the 'deep' system is hold CTRL and press left or right now and then and stay between monsters.
There. I just summed up the gameplay. Play anything but it, hell, play Runescape, that game is damn terrible but atleast it has a combat system.
Havok @ Jan 9th 2007 10:10PM
Another good thing about a DS is that it's not so easy to hold upside down in advertisements. And for those who don't know, "Kart Rider" is like Mario DS except on the PC. Playable in the US, but I think you'd have to know Korean.

It's NOT "Maple Story", but "MapleStory".
emmzee @ Jan 9th 2007 10:42PM
I have to agree with N3k74r ... I tried MapleStory for awhile, but got bored with it pretty quickly. It's not bad for being free online, but I certainly wouldn't pay for it for my DS.

I've played a few of Nexon's games before their American branch got split off (Games such as Nexus, Dark Ages, Shattered Galaxy amoung others) and honestly Nexon has no idea how to keep a game interesting for more than 5 minutes and Maplestory is no different (The new company that became of their American branch is hoping to fix that, but it's not relevent to the topic at hand. Basically all their old games are now sold off to a new company in the US, and their new games are by the same ol' Nexon)
To wrap it up, the game is idiotic, childish and you should definatly save your money.

MapleStory is ok I guess. I love the commercial though. The girls were so involved with their games they almost got hit by traffic like, three times.
KevMa @ Jan 10th 2007 1:57PM
My goodness, Asian girls :) I like the game already *drool*

It's a cute game with some nice detailed graphics, but not much to write home about. Gets kind of old quickly.
tom @ Jan 10th 2007 7:08AM
Thats probably the best teaser trailer for a game i've ever seen. Definately blows the Halo3 one out of the water!!
Neccy @ Jan 10th 2007 10:13AM
YAY it's like going to be a hack free version of maple.. i wonder what THAT game will be like.
moominsean @ Jan 10th 2007 10:31AM
the demographic must be me, if it means i get to stand around with a bunch of hot korean girls playing maple story.
atomichris @ Jan 10th 2007 2:00PM
For some reason, I'm oddly aroused after watching that teaser.
!danielle @ Jan 10th 2007 2:17PM
O.O
So how are they going to make DS!MapleStory worth any money? Some previous posters got it right, the free online game is nothing but grind, grind, and more grind. Also hacking. What are they going to do to make it interesting, I wonder? That's one hell of a challenge they've presented...
Also, this appears to be "old'd" news. But oh well, this is the first of me hearing it. XD
Zegim @ Jan 10th 2007 6:47PM
I tried playing it because some friend were hooked on it, didn't really catch my attention for long.
Or maybe it was my annoying friend telling me what should I do. I don't know.
raycosm @ Jan 10th 2007 8:04PM
Maplestory is one of those games that own, then suck ass after about a week. Unless you're too blind to realize a really repetitive game from one with lots of things to do.
