Mysterious dash update released today [update 1]

Got it, and I live in Sweden

I've just this second turned my box on, and lo and behold, the update screen.

That's a positive from the UK.

I can confirm it too, myself and a host of friends around Europe all recieved the same dashboard update today.

Ironically, it appears that the majority of the world mistook this dashboard update as the intended patch for Gears of War. That itself was released later in the day.

Two patches in one day? Enough to confuse anybody! hehehe

p.s. a small request... could you please stop the email confirmation thing? or at least let you signup or something like that, because It's really annoying to keep activating every comment via email... (A)

That 1up story is incorrect, the details they posted are for last years update

I can confirm Canada got the update as well. A quick scan of the tabs showed no changes so I am not sure what it did.

The "changelog" that is posted above is an OLD report. That is from the January 30th, ____2006____ dashboard update. There is still no confirmation as to what TODAY'S update is for, though I am beginning to think that this, coupled with Today's GEARS update, will be designed to get rid of the "disc read error" that has plagued GEARS.

it says my account is not valid and to recover it but then it says the sign up service is not available

There's nothing boring about performance updates! I love knowing that my 360 is constantly being worked on, perfected and upgraded.

Is anyone with a modded console having issues with this update like there was with the last one? Any "bricking" and E75 errors?

Got a question... do these dashboard updates go automatically or do you have to manually tell the 360 to update itself? I've only had mine for a couple of weeks.
