Does anyone still argue that Nintendo makes the most fun games? They do, and always have. Top selling franchises like Mario, Zelda, Megaman etc. have been incredibly fun for ... well ... forever.

Where, in game theory, does realism equate to good gaming? Personally, I would think exactly the opposite in that reality is the furthest thing from real gaming fun.

Visual appeal is obviously initially attractive, but it's not what holds a gamer. Zelda shows me that the Wii is pretty enough to enjoy, but the gameplay is where it shines.

I collect systems (as much as I can afford). I don't have P$3 yet, but I had all of last gen's systems for my comparison. Other than Guitar Hero on PS2, I had way more fun on my Gamecube than I did on the others. I had actually bought an old NES last year since mine wouldn't work anymore, just to go play my old games. They're still fun (admittedly, not pretty, but fun).

I have a ton of XBox1 games. I can't really think of a really fun title on that system other than maybe Psychonauts and a few of the sports games. I can think of "pretty" games, but not really fun ones. Endless FPS games are all a blur together and lose thier appeal to me after playing the first few. Is Doom3 really that different from any other FPS?

No one definition of fun will apply to all people, obviously. I just wonder if people who didn't grow up with the original systems really get what makes gaming fun or if they are just fed a "false need" for stunning graphics?

(Internet and Media servers are awesome. They at least help justify some of the prices of these expensive systems)

Ok most of you are nuts. Yes the Wii is great, for $250.00 why not pick one up just to have it. But the Xbox 360 is in a league all it's own. For the people above who say it's too expensive and a "Paris Hilton" machine, that's just obnoxious. Oh $400.00 for something that I can use for more than just games, and I can spend a s@#tload of time playing, yeah that's sooo expensive.. Please.. If you think $400.00 for a console of this magnitude is too much, then you need to get off these forums and find a better job and or go back and find another career path... 360 kicks ass, PS3, well there's not much there for it yet, Sony may have missed the boat, although I'll probably get one eventually if they come out with some sick games for it, ect... For the people who waited days to pick it up, it's kind of funny to think about that now... The 360 was at least worth the wait, and not picking one up on launch day, I was at least able to get it within a month's time. Bottom line Wii is cool, so why not spend the $250.00, but the top dog in the console race is the $360.00 hands down.. This is coming from someone who was born with Atari (loved it) and have been gaming ever since....

Slaziman, a 16yr old kid, makes a better argument than any of the Wii haters here.

Perfect Dark, a good launch title? Gimme a break. You musta been drunk to get in bed with that game, TAKE OFF THE BEER GOGGLES! PD, Could't hold a candle to LOZ, or Wii Sports (yeah, I said it). The best game on xbox360, GOW, just came out a little while ago and you had to wait a year for it, while I will have Mario, Metroid, and Smash Bros. in March.

Wii will have FREE online play.

Yes FREE, while you are being raped, without lube, by microsoft for your "gold" xboxlive package, I'll be playing against kids in California and Japan for FREE. Nintendo is creating a gaming revolution here, drawing in new gamers, and converting anti-gamers. 360 and PS3 only caters to the same old crowd. The possibilites are endless for Nintendo after this, and for all next-gen systems, after this shining example of innovative gameplay set forth by the Wii, involving more than just better graphics. Blueray be damned, you wanna pay $80 for a dvd? Be my guest, and by the way, have you heard of "Beta-max?" You will hear of it later by comparison.

The Wii won't help nintendo dominate the market, but only because too many people are skeptical. But it will bring back the people who brought us the NES, SNES, and N64 after two dissapointing generations of losing to Sony.

As for Sony and Microsoft, their biggest problem is that their two new systems are far too much alike. They both use conventional controllers (Sixaxis is not a brand new innovation. Deal with it) and the best graphics on each system look too similar (Compare Gears of War to Resistance: Fall of Man.) Nintendo's best choice this time was to isolate themselves from the standard "bigger and better" system war and focus on being the most fun. And that's why the Wii is 2007s most successful system.

Yes, you are definetly telling the truth here. But still, while Slaziman is a mature 16-year old, don't you think at all, that some of the immature idiots here could be a bit younger?
GamerGod proves it. No mature person would be caught dead saying "YOU WIIFANBOYS NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP FACE IT THE
THE WII IS NOTHING MORE THAT A OVERCLOCKED GAMECUBE WITH A $60 GIMMICK AD-ON.

GAMER GOD has spoken!"
If you were over the age of 12 and were caught saying that, you'd probably shoot yourself if anyone found out. Seriously, you aren't talking to people as mature as you.

Having played both Wii and XBox 360 ...Xbox 360 seems to be better for your hardcore gamers, where Wii is better for "family fun". I'm not knocking either system, but I'd have to say my "Mario Brother" days are OVER. I love my Xbox360 and I am totally addicted to Gears of War (One of the best games I've ever played) The graphics on that game are totally amazing!!!!!

lol, u guys are freaking morons. whoever said the wii is a gamecube with a new controller is an idiot. the wii controller is nothing like the game cubes, it's not at all like its predecesor, unlike u sony obsessors who have been using the same retarded controller since ps1. The ps3 is just a ps2 that plays blue ray disks. so what if the dvds are clearer, ur still gonna be playing the exact same crap on ur overly priced, over sized (seriously, i went to game stop, the ps3 looks like a part of a vacume cleaner ) PS3s. if u clip the wii remote to the classic controller, it becomes a ps3 controller. The wii becomes a ps3 with poorer graphics. Don't say the wii is just a gamecube, it's a better version of the ps3

For all you worried about the latest in HD Gaming, and sharing media files, and having the ability to play Blu Ray, or have the ultimate in graphics gaming machine, etc....It's called a computer. Easy to upgrade and now having about the same life as any system, yet having the ability to upgrade quicker than any of your systems...and now that consoles, like the PS3 are getting close to approaching the price of a computer that can do more than any game system will be capable of. Why spend the money on a gaming system like PS3 or Xbox 360 when all the titles you know and love are pretty much accessible to the computer, not to mention that you can get controllers that are very similar to the ones you like as well. Now for general screwing around w/ friends and light game play at a decent cost, with games being cheaper as well, I can see a spot for the Wii. But if systems like the PS3 or Xbox 360 (to a lesser extent) dominate you'll find your average console becoming more and more like a computer that you can easily have built yourself, and more expensive...For intense gaming, top of the line graphics, large hard drive space, and the best in media capability, you might as well put the money toward a computer, avoid the monthly online fees of most of the consoles. For fun group play w/ your friends and a break from the norm, the Wii is there. Gamecube 1.5, maybe, but what's the point when a console is just a lesser PC w/ higher priced games and lesser versatility.

See my friend has a wii and i've been over there playing it somewhat, but enough for me to say that it is indeed a fun system but you wii fanboys need to stop kidding yourselves.Everyone of these systems that came out is made for a different audience.Wii is the obvious party system, most games will not be fun unless played with an audience of friends.360 is the FPS system, thats all they mainly have and thats what they specialize in.PS3 is the all around system,it has games that are for the most part geared towards a slightly more mature audience yet still provides some games that will apply themselves to the younger less advanced audience.

Basically to dim it down for those who can't understand, the wii does not win, there never really was a console wars,if you have to insist there is then PS3 would win because the console wars stems around the 3 major areas,u.s.,europe and japan. While u.s. for the most part is a phsyco sadistic area hell bent on playing fps(i'm a u.s. citizen but one of the few not like that),then 360 will probably win or at least be tied with sony in the u.s. but in japan and europe Sony will most likely prevail because sony has amore broadened and wide variety of games.Wii is mostly a secondary console and pretty much everyone will end up getting one because its a fun thing to have for parties, but it will mostly be bought late in its life cycle especially concidering theres not many good games at all for it right now.

This as hard as you might believe is an unbiased statement.I am actually a fan of all the systems and can greatly appreciate what everyone of them does.I honestly feel though that sony will win in the end and if not then 360.

Every game system has its plus sides and deathly falls, but after analyzing the extensive capabilities of each system (so far!!!!) I have deduced that the XBOX 360 stays on top for now. The Wii bring up a close second and PS3 gasping in dead last. I refuse to talk about the PS3 since just looking at the price (600 dollars or more) makes me sick. The Wii, i admit, has an array of games like Link:TP and Wii SPorts that appeal to many gamers weather hardcore or recreational. The capabilities of the Wii are truly impressive for they portray the visage of virtaul control and many games can evolve from such an innovative idea, but right now the gameplay is considerably limited. Also, the Wii lacks online capabilities even though i can surf the net, yet surfing the net is not why i buy a game console for! For now, 360 has an expensive but arguably fair price and its capabilities far outnumber that of Wii. Games of growing intensity are constantly sprouting from the 360 beating both other systems in gtameplay, which in most peoples opinions, matters most. Still the systems have not yet spread their wings fully and more is yet to be seen.
