Nintendo to officially open shop in Korea with DS

Ruliweb has posted several images of the Korean-specific DS soon to be released on January 18. It should be interesting to see how well the DS, and upcoming Wii, can ultimately do in the MMO loving country. And could Nintendo be as ambitious for Korea as Microsoft is for Brazil?

This might sound off-topic, does anyone know how well iQue did in China?
It's been a long time since the brand-name (it now includes iQue DS) launched, so I'm wondering how Nintendo is doing in China.

If I recall, there will be a Maple Story port for the DS coming out in Korea. If it works well enough it could very well spur a portable MMO craze in Korea on the DS.

Nintendo has never released data on the IQue sales.
South Korea for the longest time had laws banning imports of Japanese products including game consoles.
No game console ever had a prescense in South Korea. North Korea is the same.
