Oh man, we just got Cooking Mama for the DS lite. It's really fun, especially if you like Japanese food. The game is localized into English, but of course all the recipes are for miso soup, tempura shrimp, curry, etc. I can't wait to see this with the Wii controller.

Hey,

Here's a pretty long video of a friend demoing Cooking Mama on the Wii @ CES.

The quality is a bit better than the shaky-cam footage above.

Like the DS, I think all the best Wii games are going to be mockeries of rather mundane tasks or professional fields. Already the best (or at least the most fitting) Wii game is Trauma Center. With that you had to know that Cooking Mama & Phoenix Wright wouldn't be too far behind and they're probably going to be as much fun as their counterparts.
The next step is introducing other careers you can test drive on the wii. I can't wait to see the games for bartending, firefighters, journalism (a good way to introduce my long planned Fear & Loathing video game), retail clerk zombie, politician (it won't get them off our backs but at least we can make fun of them), lumberjack, hairdresser, librarian, and well... this list can go on and on.
