Blizzard holding Burning Crusade midnight signings

Those eagerly awaiting the upcoming expansion pack to Blizzard's all-consuming vortex of addiction, World of Warcraft, should take note of special midnight signings happening on January 16th. Four stores in California will host members of the development team who will be happily signing copies of Burning Crusade and asking intense cosplayers to back the hell off.
Though three of the four stores have 4,500 copies available (the last one having 1,500), you can already start lining up on January 15th. If you don't live in California and absolutely require your copy of the game to have some scibbling on it, convince a friend to go in your stead -- thinly-veiled threats work a charm.
The stores and relevant addresses are listed after the break.

Are there really people that sad to actually drive to a store at midnight to obtain a copy of something just so it can signed by a bunch of non-entity developers? Or even to own a copy of something which will be generally available soon after?
It's bad enough that people do it for consoles, but for a lousy game?

People will gladly stand in line for their favorite things. Not too different than standing in line for your favorite band, or meeting them in person and getting their autographs. With 7.5 million people active subscribers I wouldn't dismiss it as a "lousy" game, even if it's not your cup of tea.

Something like 10,000 people showed up for the launch signing of WoW - and keep in mind that was before the game was released. It'll be absolute chaos this time.

World of WarCrack indeed.
I own it, but I rarely play it. It's just so fracking BORING!

I used to work at the Fry's in Fountain Valley. ugh, no way would I be going near that place with a ten-foot pole. Also, I don't even like or own WoW.
