Gradius lives: Konami denies 'cancellation' rumor
Yesterday's overblown rumor regarding a spree of "cancellations" at Konami's Japanese headquarters have proven to be quite untrue. Konami has stated that all the previously listed games, including Gradius and the Wii's eagerly anticipated "Action Adventure 2," are still in the works. The chopped release lists printed in the pages of Famitsu and Dengeki have been attributed to simple error. Unfortunately for fans of first-person shooters, Konami did not have a Phoenix Down to spare for Coded Arms: Assault.

Thank goodness! Don't kill Gradius! IREM killed R-Type and I am still unhappy about it.

They should make Gradius a downloadable game... no need for a side scrolling shooter to be on a BD nowadays.

Thank Goodness! I'm hoping that either "New" Roleplaying Game (PS3) or Roleplaying Game (Wii) is a Suikoden title.
Considering one says new while the other doesn't, I'm leaning toward the one on Wii being Suikoden. Would kinda suck since I kinda want the series on one console, but Suikoden has never been cutting edge graphically, so I wouldn't mind THAT much picking it up on Wii.

uh, Coded Arms' cancellation is good news for FPS fans, having another FPS worse than Daikatana's never a good thing, and Coded Arms was one of the few and shameful

Is it at all possible that "Action Adventure 2" could be the sequel to Elebits? Publishers seem to be pushing follow-ups closer and closer togeather lately so it's not too much of a stretch.

Great! The original Action Adventure 1 was great, I've been looking forward to its sequel for years now. I was quite disappointed to hear it was canceled. Action Adventure 2 is still on track, so I hope it lives up to the hype!

It's a shame.
Coded arms had promise. The PSP version was just a bit crippled by the PSP layout. I wanted to see what Konami could do with Coded Arms on a console. The premise of the game is solid, I just hope they take it back to the drawing board and put some serious effort into it. With a little extra originality and ingenuity, Coded Arms could make for a stand out FPS in the era of WWII games and Halos.

the controls were fine, what wasn't was the fact that under the "infinite levels" guise was the fact that there were just 3 different levels in the game, irritating enemies, rediculous weapons, and annoyances numbering in the hundreds
you know what would really stand out in this era? a new TimeSplitters, a new Painkiller, hell, just look at The Darkness, which is by the same team that did the last great, new, and genre-busting FPS, Escape from Butcher Bay
