Hmmmm, so isn't that $6 with the CD?

I'll wait till it's really free.

OXM is complete trash. If you are buying it for the magazine, you will be disappointed. It's not Nintendo Power bad, but it's heading in that direction.

I have a subscription to the mag and I actually enjoy it.
They usually have good info I haven't read anywhere else and I find the reviews to fall around what I feel a game deserves.

So how is this going to work on the 360? Is it a true expansion that requires the original game, or is it really a standalone game that's a sequal or some such to Oblivion? I'm assuming this would be too large to download through XBLM. Oh, and what about character transfer?

What? how is it 'too big'? they regularly have 1gb+ content on there, hell movies are like 6gb. It isnt an arcade title.

The OXM disc also had a nice 7 or 8 minute piece on the expansion with lots of game footage. I'm excited as the lands are cool and the enemies/town etc. look great too.

OXM used to be sweet because of the demo disks and the fact that you could get demos of new games. Now that they have demos for free download it isnt so hot. People who are computer savvy can find screens and reviews online faster than a magazine can provide it....

I dug OXM until they gave Fight Night: Round 3 a 10.0. That was pathetic. They proclaimed that FNR3 (a fine game btw, just not a "10") was a better game than anything in the Halo series, Forza, Ninja Gaiden, KOTOR, Jade Empire, GRAW, Elder Scrolls IV, Call of Duty 2, or any of the Burnouts or Spinter Cells. In short - are you kidding me?!

Then, Francesca Reyes, the Editor-in-Chief had the opportunity to admit she made a mistake after they were flooded with complaint-mail over the review. She instead chose to be politcal and try, in some vague way, to defend the review. That's when I really lost respect. Hey, they pay good money to get some decent previews and inside info - but take every review from here on end with a grain of salt.

Btw, I DIG free Oblivion Content! I'm pumped that this issue is the last of my subscription. Glad I didn't miss out!

I bought a subscription so I could get the demo discs every month and have copies of the XBLM demos, saving precious hard drive space on my 360. The discs themselves sometimes have some great unlockable content, from Japanese demos to gamerpics. It is pretty inconsistent though. Good to see some stuff like this going on.

"Of course, the real question is: are you buying a magazine with free Oblivion content, or Oblivion content with a free magazine?"
Not buying, already a subscriber, and I enjoy the magazine. The thing that sucks ass though is that I bought 2 downloads for Oblivion... and both of them are included in the 3 free downloads so far (I don't have Wizard's tower).

King B - "OXM used to be sweet because of the demo disks and the fact that you could get demos of new games. Now that they have demos for free download it isnt so hot. People who are computer savvy can find screens and reviews online faster than a magazine can provide it...."
Yea, but is there a CoD3 demo out on XBL yet? Cuz there's one on the OXM demo disc (haven't played yet though). And sometimes OXM gets exclusive info and reviews before the net, like Lost Planet and Shivering Isles.

SoL Shepherd - "I dug OXM until they gave Fight Night: Round 3 a 10.0. That was pathetic. Well at first they reviewed going by tenths of a point (more accurate). Then they changed to going by halves, so even if FN3 was a 9.8 or something it would round to a 10. An a boxing game like this could be a 10 on the scale for boxing games. It shouldn't be compared to something like Halo in the wide world of FPS shooters.

I'll be lucky if anyone read this.

My brother in law has a subscription to OXM. Hopefully, I can borrow it from him.

King B and SoL Shepherd said it best. Coming to OXM's defense at this point Imadogg is a complete waste of time. Weak editorial policy, hit 'n miss reviews and "exclusive" demos that are on Live within a month.

Nah I didn't really waste any time cuz it would've been wasted anyways. But I guess your 7-star self pwned me. I had to try defending OXM, cuz I enjoy it. Sorry.*

Btw if no one cared about getting demos a month earlier, Gold members would lose one advantage over silver members.

*If you took that as me being pissed at you, please don't. I was just messing around, plus I saw Alpha Dog yesterday (which my friend stars in) yeaaaaaaaa.

We care about getting demos sooner, sure, but paying for them? Better be some fantastic demo. I'm not pissed and if you enjoy OXM, hey that's cool. I used to be onboard with them, but the train left the rails awhile ago ... and those stars mean squat.

Well I guess I just like having a lot of extra discs ok!?!? Plus I don't pay for the subscription, so it's cool.

As a lead designer on shivering isles, i can tell you that it will only take about as much space as an oblivion save and is still 40%( previously 25%) the size of oblivion with 32 new ingredients, 27 new armor sets, 36 new wepon sets, 31 new unique wepons, 286 new unique items, 17 new spells, 88 new books, 4 new factions, 284 new quests, and 4 new cities
