"Oh please, the PC version looks 5% better with "only" 2GB more RAM. Give me a break. Xbox360 runs pretty much every game so far nearly as good as the highest end PC. Sure, console cannot match things like 2GB RAM. Which cost $200 by itself, while the whole console cost $400. They also are cheaper. Go look up Rainbow Six Vegas PC benchmarks. Even a X1900 struggles with it, yet the 360 runs it fine."
Of all the things, the amount of RAM is quite irrelevant here-it isn't the defining characteristic of a given platform. Also, an overclocked X1900 can give you a 1600x1200 res image on max settings, running at a stable 30 FPS. Which looks better than the X360 version by a wide margin. I am telling you from my own experience. Don't forget that RSV was built for the XBox from the ground up, and not enough optimization has been done on the code for the PC version. Finally, don't forget that the X1900 was originally released nearly a year ago, and with the new video cards-like the GF8800, the PC's hardware advantage is rapidly increasing even more.

"Wrong. I'm going legit because pirating is becoming a pain with all the authentication checks MS does now. I'm only waiting because it didn't make sense to buy XP with Vista right around the corner."
Around the corner... XP was released 6 years ago. Enough said.

"No you dont need one for your 360. Are you forgetting I already have a crappy PC monitor? Are you forgetting non-hi def TV's that work just fine for consoles?"
Right, and those non-hi def TVs are for some reason unknown to modern science are incompatible with PCs. The point was: just don't factor in the price of a monitor when counting how much a PC setup costs, or if you do, factor in the cost of a TV when counting a price of a console setup.
"Where is $500? I will need 1500+."
You need $1200 for a good gaming rig for Crysis. That is an X360 plus the aforementioned $500 plus the long-term difference in multiplayer/game costs.

Wow. I am glad I read the article, because the title makes it sound like that Crysis as a while would not be coming to the PC. Anyways onto the actual subject....

So there is going to be a graphically stripped down version of Crysis for the consoles, because they cannot do Direct X 10 graphics. I always knew that the console was going to be outdated by the PC sooner or later, but within a year!? Sheesh. I wish more console makers would port more games back onto the PC. Actually if I remember correctly, these games are developed on PC's and MAC's anyways, are they not? (Espically ones developed for the XBOX 360) Therefore, wouldn't it be easier for them to port them to the PC?

Then again, come to think of it. When porting games to the PC you have to worry about different hardware setups, as opposed to consoles where you are just developing for one set of hardware. It makes optimizing the game for PC's much harder.

What are your thoughts on this?

There is something special about the lighting in Crysis. I just can't put my finger on it. We have seen HDR lighting on the 360 and it looks good but the lighting in Crysis is just amazing. The colors are also very deep and rich. Look at any video showing the forest and look a the green. I wonder what kind of effects they are using to achieve this.

Did anyone mention this?
http://www.crysis-online.com/?id=177

It says : "Unconfirmed by EA/Crytek. Please be aware that this information could be wrong. According to Cevat Yerli there is no plan to work on a xbox360 version right now."

I recently got a computer, dual AMD 64, Geforce 7900 GS 2 gb of ram, I also own an Xbox, I use my computer for Maya , 3D max, Zbrush, etc. With the knowledge of what I actually use my computer for I want everyone to know that games are MADE on PCs, im not downing consoles I love them, user friendly, instant gratification. PCs are en evolutionary device. Even though the lines are being further blurred everyday. Lets just agree that both are great in their own right.

i work in front of a computer all day, last thing i want is to come home, sit at a desk and play games with a keyboard and mouse.

i'd rather kick back on the couch and fire up a console. don't really care if ps3/xbox/wii has crappier graphics than a pc, it's still fun.
