Craptacular attachments for Wiimote
We mused about the subject a few months back, and now PEGA's delivering with a set of cheap plastic Wiimote attachments. For ¥2,780 (about $23), suckers can preorder the set, which includes a mock golf club, baseball bat, and tennis racket (all measuring approximately 16 inches in length). At that length (and without much weight), the attachments won't add much to the sense of realism; though they will increase the risk of actually striking someone or something while playing Wii Sports. No thanks.See also: Wii-eel attachment looks rather un-wii-ldy

Is it just me, or does that baseball attachment look like a dildo? I mean, more like a dildo than the normal controller does.

Aren't you supposed to use the side of the remote for golf, which would make the club attachment point the wrong way?

Looks like the attachments are interchangeable to a main slip on...
I sure hope the are firmly attached...
Would hate to see someone swinging one of those and it flies off... ;)

Anyone dumb enough to pay five bucks for Urban Champion is dumb enough to buy this crap.

These things were given to me as a Christmas present. They are awful. Once the Wii Remote is inserted the IR light is blocked, making navigation in Wii Sports impossible. This means the Wii Remote has to be constantly taken in and out of the attachments, sometimes within games. This would not be a big deal if it was easy to eject the Wii Remote from the attachment but it barely fits in there. In short, crap.

I'm hazarding a guess that the bat attachment is on the top for aesthetic purposes --I doubt the additional weight helps much-- but I think a much more practical attachment would have been a grip extension on the bottom. It's unfortunate that it doesn't seem possible to do that with this product.

@ Sol
You can navigate all of the Wii Sports menus with the D-pad.
Gavin @ Jan 16th 2007 4:55AM
Yeah, you can use the D-pad, but that negates the entire point of having the interface the entire system is built around.

Is anyone else praying that some one at lucas arts has taken a look at these and though "you know we could make a light sabre that the wii remote could fit in".
Now that would be a system seller!!!

That's weird these have been out here in Aus since the wii launch, as well as Wii Play and the DS lite launched here before stateside. I'm not complaining, I mean I like Nintendo's new found love of Aussies, but why?
Killer Instinct @ Jan 16th 2007 6:39PM
i thought they were a need idea, not that I'd get them, im sure someone will come up with even better ideas than these though
