This response is to "Shagi"'s comment about me in the "27th" spot.

First of all, I didn't write the review of Lost Planet. That was done by Greg Ford. (You can easily see his name and his review right here: http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=753413)

Secondly, his score and his opinions are his own to make, just like every other reviewer out there.

And finally, I'm not an Rtard. In the future, I'd recommend you doing a little research first to see who wrote what, etc., before you go out and insult someone for no good reason. Don't be so quick to jump the gun man and remember, not everyone has to share the same opinion on every game.

What I'd recommend you do is find a reviewer that you think has a similar taste to your own. Either that, or perhaps you can go by the average score of what a particular game has received across several media outlets, like joystiq, 1up, and ign to name a few.

And to try and stay on the subject of this article's story, if you lose 750 calories a day and do so for 42 days (6 weeks), that'll amount to 31,500 calories (9 pounds). One pound of fat is made up of 3,500 calories. Also, when you lose weight, you not only lose fat, but muscle as well. It really depends on what type of activity you're doing: anaerobic vs. aerobic.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology, so that's the back-up for my comment. If any of you at Joystiq ever need some physical fitness/health nutrition advice, feel free to ask. Us gamers have to stick together.

I work on the wiinintendo with hey_suburbia, and I can assure all of you who are saying this is fake, that it's not fake in any way.

He's a really dedicated dude who went above and beyond to do this study.

Yeah he didn't lose a ton of weight, but he was playing video games! Come on!

Diet is more important. Stop eating bags of Doritos and you'll probably lose weight just watching TV.

Of course, in that situation, cardiac development is nil. ;)

(500x42)x3 = 63 000 calories.

500 calories comes from an hour of playing and 42 days comes from 6 weeks. The x3 is playing the game 3 times a week. Which means that hardcore gamers like me can squeeze in 4 to 5 times.

63000/3500 = 18 pounds

3500 is the number of calories needed to lose a pound of fat.

Lol. I might get this for my brother. He recently gained weight and is feeling down. All though i am not sure how he would react to playing a game since he normally dislikes video games.

Hey paul since you asked us to ask you. Would that be possible?

If it is. I might buy a Wii. I was thinking of getting one but i have to make College my first priority.

I'm assuming you mean three times a day, not three times a week, tracked.

I have a degree in Nutrition and can promise that if these numbers are accurate it will make a difference for a lot of inactive and even fairly active people. I break a sweat every time I play the Wii!

The guy who burns 500 calories on the eliptical can keep on with his big bad self! I am thrilled to find out that boxing for 30 minutes burns just about EXACTLY what I do on the eliptical as a 125-lb woman. Can't wait til the Wii calorie reports are more specific for gender, weight, etc. since those things make big differences in caloric output for the same exercise.

Not only does the math not work out, but the fact that he didn't keep any sort of scientific diet log (he just says he tried to eat like he "normally" does ) pretty much invalidates the whole study... Any real exercise program with video games or anything else should always be combined with a healthy eating regimen for maximum results...

I lost over 16 pounds in 30 days of playing Wii Sports, but I readily attribute some of that to diet changes as well (and I kept track of all the calories I ate)... http://www.videogamefitness.net
