jc, your extremism does little to help your little anti-Nintendo crusade. In fact, it makes you look like a simpleton.

Wii Sports wasn't even a little fun? Zelda is a lame Japanese RPG? See... when your statements are so obviously tainted by hatred, no one will ever take you seriously.

Grow up!

"Yesterday I walked past my gaming blog and saw 40 comments about the console wars collecting DUST... LOLLERZ"

This could also just mean slow production by Nintendo, while there are adequate supplies of Sony's reletively expensive (re: twice the price) PS3 to meet demand. Not the same customer. Sony wishes it was, but it's not. There were plenty of expensive cars on the lot while the Prius had a waiting list.

These companies are in this game FOR YEARS, not weeks like the fanboys we all wade through on this site. They plan on periods of MONTHS and YEARS, not time between fanboy rants on Joystiq. I would have hated to see this board during the first few years of the XBOX, that would have been a prediction for failure every other day... And now, 4 billion US dollars and several years later, we all love our 360, don't we?

While it's impressive that the Wii is in short supply, it's also impressive on some other level that the PS3 can output video games at 1080p, and you can play your friends online... Just sayin', there's things the Wii can't do. It's not like comparing the 360 and the PS3. Everyone will get a Wii. It's the high-end system people are deciding about getting.

Well, guess what, the Gamecube did well too..Mario party or something outsold Halo for months!!! And we all know where that ended up. One year later we will see whether people want to buy Mario ware or RE5/FF/MGS4/GTA4/Assassin creed/Lair/Heavenly sword. Make no mistake about it, the main competiton is still the cheap and cheaply made, overheating, noisy, no-blu-ray and no backward compatibility, shooter-only 360.

I was in best buy this past weekend in Gainesville FL (Go Gators) and there were 48 PS3's stacked in the isle. There were also several under where the games are. I went back to the store a few days later and there were still the same 48 in the isle but the ones under the games were gone. This is a college town where video games are a major hobby of a large amount of people so it was shocking to see these sitting there.

You can't say that college kids are poor either because when I was in school here most of my friends had more than enough money to get something like this if they wanted.

I know I had a 360 preordered 3 or 4 months before launch and still didn't get mine until late december. Those things couldn't be found anywhere in this town easily until at least March.

What killed me was when I was in the store I overheard this guy and his girlfriend. She's like hey babe there is the new playstation you were talking about. He's like $600 are you effing kidding me, I'll get one when they are like $150.

Which is, um, really, really bad for the high-end systems.

The PS3 is too expensive. You can get high-definition graphics and online play with the 360 for a lot less. The Wii is selling well because of the low price point.

@ 48
i could not agree more with what you are saying.
these huge multi-national corporations such as sony and microsoft have alot more to think about then just what is happening right now. of course, there is an aspect of the here and now, but if they just focus on that then what will happen tomorrow? or the week after? as in to say that right now it looks as if sony isn't playing their cards right, but they probably have a map set out for the future.

I was at my best buy yesterday in Bloomington-Normal IL, a multi-college town (at least 2 major universities and a community college) and I counted 27 PS3s, from what I could see they were all 60gb ones. No Wiis or accessories for it outside the stand (with gloves) and the Wii memory card.

It looked like they were running out of places to put the PS3s. I was actually at best buy to get Employee of the Month, but I like to stop in the gaming isles on the way.

The Wii is selling because it's cheaper and people realize that you don't need 1080p graphics in a simple game of bowling. The controller makes the game(s) interesting to people of all levels of play.

I like bowling but dislike going to bowling alleys. The Wii is the next best thing. Oh and no sore thumbs from bowling a couple of frames either.

Also, how can you say the PS3 isn't broken when the controller completely looses communication with the system randomly. The Wii also uses Bluetooth to communicate with it's controllers but you don't get the drop outs. Explain that.

Oh yeah, the Sixaxis is more complicated and won an Emmy without rumble, accelerometers (it only has a gyro for tilt), infra-red reader with logic cpu to calculate distance and (X,Y) co-ordinates, or 6K of RAM and a speaker.

Fact: I went into FYE, Walmart and EB Games last night and none had a Wii and all had PS3's. I asked at EB how many Wii's they get a week and he said 3 and they sell as soon as they arrive. The week before Christmas, I was able to walk into Walmart (and did) and bought a 20GB and 60GB PS3. I sold them each locally (didn't sell on ebay for even retail+tax) for a slight profit. Even then, they were available and not selling as only fanboys think they aren't available and are too young to drive and don't go to the stores to see for themselves and assume everyone on the internet is a liar and the PS3 will play games in the 4th dimension.

You people who are supposedly finding Wii's ... what the hell are you doing? You can sell those bad boys on ebay for over $100 in profit. And if you get accessories (extra remote, nunchuck), you can probably get even more.

Just don't buy a PS3 and put it on ebay. You WILL be disappointed.

Whatever. You guys are all tools.

Say what you want but the PS3 is the only true gen system out there. No one cares if the kiddie crap sells, because everyone forgets about them a week later. It's only games like Resistence that will be remember years and years down the road.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the next Halo game stole everything from RFOM. Halo has never been 40 player because it's just not powerful enough.

HALO 3 = Xbox's RedSteel. Mark my words.

jc,

I know what you mean. The PS3 is a "true gen system". It plays games in 4 dimensions with dual 1080p screens. Was is extrememly memorable about RFOM is the real-time weapon switching enabling massive damaged to giant enemy crabs. I mean, no even HALO messes with giant enemy crabs... I how working that overtime that Sony said you'd have to in order to afford a PS3 was worth it.

You are not only a fanboy, but a stupid one.
I especially loved you comment about using the Wii Remote as a gyro mouse in Zelda. You idiot, that's the limitation of the PS3's controller, not the Wii.

By the way, what excuse did you give your mommy to stay home from school today?

I was at the local best buy and there were lots of PS3s but no Wiis because the Wiis were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me.

/I like stories.

If the PS3 is already available in most stores and the wii is selling out withen 30 minutes then that is a pretty good sign for nintendo. Even if the ps3 has no games yet.
