New details, no date on Blast Factor multiplayer pack
We've got some new details regarding the recently-unveiled Blast Factor multiplayer pack, set for release at a still-unknown future date. The $2.99 add-on pack is set to include both co-op and grudge matches on the same screen. Inquiries into online multiplayer were left unanswered. In addition to multiplayer, the new Blast Factor pack will feature time accleration modes, dubbed AT and 2xAT, which ups the difficulty and speed in exchange for added bonuses and new specimen. We're still not convinced the pack has the goods to bring this game above its modest mediocrity, but it's looking good so far.

Crap "expansion" for a crap game. This should be free, or have been included in the first place.

Welll, while the $2.99 expansion pack seems to be a common thing, let's bulk it up a bit, shall we? Examples? The $2.99 expansion of Go! Sudoku! can officially be considered beefed up expansions. Gripshift? How about throwing back in that track editor and splitscreen multiplayer (in fact, I'd love to try and tackle the puzzle level while friends are doing the same thing, or maybe even a "tag" style game where a player is "it" and hopes across platforms and through ramps trying to tag other players.... gripshift has such great potential)? Hell, how about level editors and bonus packs for Lemmings?
Truth be told, I've been addicted to the casual games experience of late in XBLA and PS (waiting for something unique aside from shooters in VC... I'm deving a shooter... don't want to play anymore) and seeing expansion packs for the cheaper games seems like a great idea just so long as the core is cheap and beefy within itself. Lumines Live? Yeah, fuck that. I still feel miffed about paying $15 for fucking shareware.

Blast Factor is a great game for $8, and adding $3 to it for MP isn't that bad. It isn't as bad as Lumines Live! pricing structure. Sure, MP should have been in Blast Factor to begin with.
But I like the game enough to pony up the $3 for the MP.

What? Blast Factor is highly addictive and fun. I love that it's more strategic than Geometry Wars, yet easier to play. And the difficulty level changes to match your skill level.
