Ten million served in Europe

Did you know that the Nintendo DS is somewhat popular? No, really. It is. In fact, Nintendo of Europe recently announced that the DS has reached the 10 million unit milestone in Europe, and after less than two years on the market in that region. That's an average of 450,000 systems sold per month, which is a staggering number, particularly for a handheld. NoE says that this resounding success anoints the DS with a brand new gold star: fastest system to ever hit that 10 million milestone.

We guess folks in Europe kinda like this system. We can get behind that.

Is this where all the DS Lites are? 'Cuz they ain't here in the US. If this keeps up, Nintendo's sales figures for the US in January on DS Lites will be zero.

The problem is Nintendo is only making 2.5 million DS Lites a month. Over the holidays they sold as quickly as Nintendo could make them and its going to take some time to catch back up.

They are still pretty hard to get over here in Europe as well. Although some restocking is starting to be seen, over Christmas they were completely sold out.

It would be nice to see some new colours, or maybe even limited edited styling. But I guess with such high sales figures already this is unlikely.
