Install a bigger HD in your PS3
Sixty gigabytes not enough for you to store all your pictures and movies on your PS3? Sure, you could use a USB hard drive to expand the space, but that's much too easy. For those masochists that just need to have that extra storage inside the system casing, there's now a MySpace page with detailed advice on how to install any 3.5" drive in your system.
For those of you who just need to have every USB device you own hooked up to the PS3 at the same time, the site also has video instructions for installing a USB hub to expand the four ports included with the system. Personally, we're too busy playing Resistance: Fall of Man to take the time to do any of this stuff, but for the hardware fetishists out there, go nuts.

pffffft 60 gigs is for toddlers... I I don't own a computer anymore that doesn't boast at least on terabyte. What the hell who pays 600 bucks for a piece with 60 gigs...
You want to buy my 512 Mb hard drive 386x system for a gajillion zillion dollars!!!?
Anything less than a terabyte is for toddlers just like anything under 64oz including beer... Who the hell wants a 12oz beer anyway?

Er. Did you guys even bother to read the article. PS3 uses 2.5" HDDs. Those 3.5" HDDs detailed on the site are installed in an external exclosure.

Oh snap! Hahahaha, 400-gig PS3, here I come!

The phrase "don't get carried away" springs to mind. Its a games console for crying out loud. You don't need 3.75tb of storage. 1x 500gb is overkill.

That's not a MySpace page. That's a page designed to look like a MySpace page. Notice the URL? http://ps3hddmod.blogsite.org - Not exactly MySpace.

Get any laptop sized harddrive and stick it in there, dont need to install an OS or anything
Hell, back up all your stuff on an SD card so there's no data loss if you want

How much of that are you going to use?
Reminds me of all the people that bought 2GB cards for their Wii, without having any clue how much space downloads actually require. Some people love to waste money.

Wow, what is wrong with you? Are you 7 years old or something? Just grow up fast man, if you don't like a console you don't need to tell everyone every chance you have.
And this is for all you Wii and Playstation haters, just go do something else then telling everyone how great xbox 360 is.
Belly Dancer @ Jan 23rd 2007 3:48PM
Cool, now if Sony could just make a decent gaming system, I'd be happy!

I don't reckon that it's that big a difference. 2GB cards can be had for $50 to $80 these days. A .25GB or 0.5GB card is gonna be $10 to $50. However, $10 to $25 range is only possible during rebates and promo periods, so if spending an extra $40 give those ppl peace of mind, so be it. With memory, it's better to buy as much as u can reasonably afford

So stick_man how much did you pay for the 1 terabyte hard drive?
Oh and how much did you pay for the PC in total?
Thought so.
People like you serve no purpose in society (troll)

You guys make me laugh I almost pissed myself reading this. I don't know why everyone is hating on the PS3, for one you don't really need all that storage space, if your like me you probably have several PC's at home to store crap and two most the games come on disks and require no space. If you do need more games you can buy 1 GB SD cards for next to nothing ($15) and coming down, if you prefer USB cards they are about the same.

idk bout u guys, and saying that putting in a bigger hard drive is a waste and all. i wouldnt mind a 500GB or even a terabyte:) would be nice to install Fedora Core 5(linux OS) on that!! then just use it as a PC. now look at that for $600 and a lil extra for the hard drive maybe get ya close to $800 u get an awesome computer. and just to say to the guy named "me"(3rd comment) the ps3 didnt enter into this world as a gaming console, it came into the market as a computer. and soon sony will release there own OS!!
