Warner Brothers announced today the creation of a new Looney Tunes game for the Xbox 360. Entitled Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal, the game is an action adventure title featuring many of our favorite characters. The game promises seven playable characters including Bugs Bunny, the Tasmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian (!), Foghorn Leghorn, Gossamer, Daffy Duck, and a secret character as well. The game will feature action adventure, puzzles, and vehicular sections based in locales like the Wild West, Egypt, and Mars. Even better, the game will have co-op.We're cautiously optimistic that this could actually be a good game. Looney Tunes have had ups and downs on consoles (we were awfully fond of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle on NES). There is a line in the press release that has us worried, though: "Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal is updating the classic characters in engaging ways that will appeal to new generations of fans as well as the loyal fans of these enormously popular cartoons." Updating? Here's hoping that no one at Warner Brothers is trying to make these classic characters "hip" and "poppin' fresh."
