The AFP reports on the increasing popularity of using in-game soundtracks to boost a musical act's career. That we know, but an interesting part of the article implies that maybe, just maybe, gamers will be able to purchase in-game music during gameplay on their console. At least that's the expectation.Sure, if interoperability of music devices improves, this could work. Otherwise, why not just jump on iTunes to purchase a track and store all your music in one place? Also, keep in mind that as gaming continues to grow, we're likely to see more than just advergaming. With the integration and wide adoption of online play, corporations could start upselling junk throughout the entire gameplay experience for any given title. Sounds fun.
